/still thinks we should get a room to ourselves from 6/7ish

Someone name an area of london where we can meet godamnitt. I've found a link which lists all pubs with rooms.

    You Londoners are useless!

Do you mean somewhere with decent transport links?

    How about Baker Street/Marylebone?

If nobody else is going to suggest anywhere I might as well be selfish :) Plus we've not had one in that part of London yet, so we could go for a change of scenery. Also, transport links to Baker Street are excellent.

Unless some Londoner offered me a place to kip I would have to leave the Fox before 11pm and I would imagine others might have to leave early too. If we don't find anything better then it should be OK but I don't think booking a room from 9 is really worth it.

If we are going to book somewhere we might as well have it all day, or at least all evening.

As TT said Baker Street has good transport links and is nicer than Kings Cross, then the other option is somewhere around Embankment.

Embankment would also be good. So would the South Bank as long as it was easy to find from Waterloo.

I'm sure we can find somewhere nice around Baker Street, Embankment or Waterloo.

I know a place in Brixton that is always quiet, downside is pulling out a PSP or DS could get you unwanted attention, although if you've ever been curious about freebasing that's always on the cards ;)

Mayfair, Euston, Victoria, Marylebone, Canary Wharf (?) (can't think of anywhere East), South Bank, Embankment, Camden, Soho, Holborn, Islington, Hampstead, Paddington... I think most of these are fairly accessible.

Heh, I was going to suggest Brixton. Well, it'd be... interesting. :)

I would say out of those the Euston one is most easily accessible.

    Right guys and gals

I have spoken to the manager of the Euston Flyer, they do not have function rooms as such but he will section off an area for us on the afternoon/evening of the 10th. This is free of charge. Apparently the pub is huge. It is open until 12pm

    The Euston Flyer
    83 Euston Road
    NW1 2RA
    020 7383 0856

    Map link

I told the guy we'd probably start trickling in in the afternoon, he'll get the area set up at 5pm ish

If this is an issue for anyone please let me know.

    It's booked under Pete Robinson

By the way I told the guy it would be roughly 30 people give or take, I think that's about right

    Hooray for organisation!

    Cheers smoothpete and mike!

If I didn't keep going on about it we'd not end up booking anywhere and end up crammed into some random pub.

If this place is great (which it hopefully will be) then we can use it for future events. If not then we can always another one of those from Mike's list next time.

Smoothpete, what name did you book it under? If it is a large pub (and it sounds like it if they can section of areas for 200 people) then anybody new who turns up earlier in the evening may have trouble finding us unless we've all got our PSPs out.

I'm looking forward to this meet. Sounds like there could be lots of us :)

It's booked under Pete Robinson, I was thinking of booking it under Eurogamer but couldn't be arsed to explain who we were :)

This isn't going to be another one of those deals where I turn up, ask at the bar, and the comely barmaid shouts in a loud screeching voice....

"OH YOU'RE WITH THEM INTERNET NERDS! UPSTAIRS AND FOLLOW THE BLOKE WITH THE EGG STAINED BF2 T SHIRT!"

The only person I know that owns a BF2 t-shirt is you! ;-)

I'll probably have my latest purchase from the Las Vegas Hilton* on...
