It really is amazing how little McGeady has progressed since he first came in the scene. Hopefully there'll be a decent amount of goals tonight, it could end up being pretty important and it has never been our strong point (even against the likes of the Faroes).

FIFA President Sepp Blatter plans to ask the governing body's executive committee to consider moving the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to the winter in order to avoid the searing summer heat.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20130717/qatar-world-cup-winter-2022.ap/?sct=hp_t2_a7&eref=sihp

A January 2022 World Cup would be interesting.

Good thing this was all planned in advance when the bidding took place.

It will be an embarrassment if the majority of countries don't tell FIFA to fuck off.

I hope it will be the start of a non-fifa world.

All FIFA sponsored competitions in history to be declared null and void and instead winners awarded based upon country size, on a top five rotation.

I still won't believe anything is going to happen till it does. The absurdity at FIFA has been going on for years and years and nothing, zip, zilch has happened.

Good its about time something happened that might affect things that FIFA take notice of. ie cold hard cash.
  • Deleted user 25 November 2014 18:19:09
That's great. A bit of hysterical press coverage and we might see a domino effect, especially in the USA. That said, I didn't look to see what the coverage of Garcia was in the US press.

I got a feeling this is more to do with the fact that Sony need to save money somewhere.

Turmoil at FIFA, as Garcia resigns!

Only, it's not turmoil at all. It's the usual, relaxed FIFA, basking in the certainty that they cannot be made to change.

I do hope someone leaks the full report, even if it's not as exciting as we'd hope.

    Oh.

Believe when I see it. Even then, probably won't believe it.

For legal reasons, that would cause FIFA Exco members to get prosecuted, most of the pages will be black I'm sure.

I agree. It's really unpleasant to look at. Makes me sad for our world that people like this have power.

England should bungle their way through their group. Bale has an easy group. Nice draw for Poland too.

I think England (and probably Scotland) are going to be OK, this stat is quite decent.

100 - England have a 100% win record against all the teams in their WC 2018 qualifying group (W11), bar Scotland. Fancied.
