If your going grey or bold Except It! don't try and hide it, you'll just waste money and does not solve anything. No one really bothers if your balled or not, grey or not, as its so common and we see it everyday, everywhere. -

Registered 8 years agoOften your hairline follows the same pattern as the men on your mother's side of the family.
In my case I had absolutely no chance of getting away it with my Grandfather and older cousin both baldies by the time they were 30.
I seem to have slowed the process somewhat but am receeding at a rate of knots now I'm in my 37th year.
My strategy is to have my hair cut as short as possible (a number 0 on the clippers scale). Shaving my head completely would seem like defeat. When you can't see the angles on the wall you're in trouble.

Although I'm going bald, I'm not particularly bold, nor am I (as far as I am aware) balled, unless balled means "in possession of balls". What am I meant to do? I'm confused.TRUTH wrote:

Registered 6 years agoI've always had a really high hairline, so it's hard to say when it started receding. My crown is also thinning. At the moment, the longer my hair is, the balder I look.
If I get my hairline from my mothers family, I'll end up with a really high hairline, but not bald. If I go the way of my father I'll be pretty bald by the time I'm 40.
I'm 28 just now. Doesn't really bother me either wayThe world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

Registered 2 years agoI am receding quite badly but luckily my avatar still has a full head of hair.
There was a recent article in that well respected publication the Daily Mail saying there may be a cure in 5 years BUT it doesnt regrow lost hair.
This raises the doomsday scenario of me being one of the last generation of slapheads! -

Yeah, fair enough. I'm pretty much with you there, I get why people fret over balding, but the whole idea of hair plugs just seems ludicrous to me. It's so excessive. Their choice, naturally, but I just don't get it.
I can completely understand why some people care about losing their hair, but I'm so glad I'm not one of them. I honestly couldn't give a shit.
Also, I will hate James Corden forever, not for being an unfunny, talentless, irritating wanker, but for ruining Patrick Stewart for me. Seeing him stoop to Corden's level - and then be rubbish at it - makes me want to cry. Fuck you, James Corden.

Registered 7 years agoRight, those Regaine adverts seem to be popping up with increased regularity, and the claims that it "regrows" hair (no disclaimer either) seems a tad misleading.
Have any fellow baldies here actually used the stuff? Amazon reviews suggest serious side-effects in some cases e.g. crippling headaches, itchy scalp and even impotence. -

Registered 10 years agoIf it's the same thing as the America product Rogaine (seems likely), then yes it does regrow hair.
I think the main problem with it is that you are signing up to a lifetime of using it. -

Yeah, that does seem to be the case - screw that. I'll wait another 5 years for a miracle drug.

Registered 10 years agoIt grows back fluff and fine hair, mainly at the back rather than the whole scalp.
It is a lifetime expense and hassle.
Go with a generic brand, as the patent expired a while back, they all have the same amount of minoxidil but are 1/4 the price of Regaine. -

Registered 8 years agoI bet it's years away from release. I'm debating whether to go for the all over short shave. I think I'm entering 'it'd be silly not to' territory of late.

Registered 10 years agoDespite my brother going bald at 20, in my 30's I'm still sporting a thicket of lush chestnut locks.
That said, I can't grow a decent beard to save my fucking life and I'm bald as a coot everywhere else. And I mean - everywhere - else. My hair seems to just stay in place by virtue that it can't grow on any other sodding part of my body.
Which is depressing, because I wanted an epic beard by this point and all I get is the vaguest hint of feeble, pathetic stubble...Master of Tekisuto No Kabe. *bows*

Registered 7 years agoI went bald at about 28.
When I had chemo I had heard rumours that your hair might grow back a different colour or even curly.
Deep down I thought my hair might return and I'd no longer be a baldy.
It didn't.gif)

Registered 5 years agoI had long hair all through my teens but i started going bald at around twenty. I have my head shaved down for the last decade of so but i have a horrible whispy widows peak/badly receeding hairline now. People think i'm well into my late thirties even though i'm only 29.
I have a silly amount of body hair though. George "The Animal" Steele levels is what we're talking about. -

Testosterone causes male-pattern baldness and increased body hair.
One of the treatments for baldness is finasteride, which reduces testosterone levels.
So if you're bothered by your baldness, you could cut your testicles off. Thanks for expressing interest in my signature!
