... not a lot of comedians (or writers) would show that kind of artistic integrity. (2nd article from the top). Hope the BBC gives in.
Gotta respect Ricky Gervais...

Registered 11 years agoSounds a bit pompous, he wants to still be seen as a low-key 'cutting edge' comedian when he's actually turned into a big name. -
I really dont see his point. The BBC are going to advertise it big style anyway.
"From the writer that brought you The Office".
Anyone that watched and loved the Office are going to tune in regardless of what channel its on, surely? -

Registered 10 years agoMaybe - but I like the fact that he is trying to avoid every man and his wife going around making retarded The Office quotes, just because its the cool thing to do. Elitist, yes - and I like it...
EDIT: Duh - I am a spanner. Read that as if he was making a 3rd season of The Office. Still - the same principles apply.

Registered 10 years agoErm, has anyone else seen the American version of The Office?
Tell you what, watch that, and then we can talk about his artistic integrity. -
I can't blame him - with star cameos and 'the office' as his last project he's under a lot of pressure to deliver, if they give it time to develop on BBC2 to a smaller die-hard audience first it'll be for the best in the long run.

Registered 11 years agoThey'll probably run it on 1 as soon as it finishes on 2, not only will the word of mouth help it gain an audience (as long as it's good) you'll get people tuning in again. This space left intentionally blank.

If you think Ricky Gervais is funny, then you are Adolf Hitler, and I claim my five Reichmarks -

Registered 11 years agoPerhaps the low viewing figures weren't anything to do with the channel the show was put out on, but merely the fact that it was in fact shite?

Ricky Gervais can suck a fat one. He's painfully unfunny.

Registered 11 years agoNo I would agree with you there, Catherine Tate is about as funny as having a huge greek man's priapismic cheesy cock rammed into your left nostril, covered in english mustard.
