The MS one was supposed to be a gaming mouse.

I also have the Sharkoon Fireglider, prefer it to the Razer I had previously...

I still use the Logitech MX1000 Laser for gaming. Are any of these newer gaming mice much better (if anyone has used the MX1000 of course!)?

I currently have my PC hooked up to the TV in my lounge - it's great for watching films/Sopcast etc, but a real pain in the arse when it comes to games that are better played with a keyboard/mouse combo (DayZ, Dawn of War 2 etc).

Any ideas for a comfortable keyboard/mouse set-up - a way that I could use these WITHOUT a desk? It might look a little odd, but I suppose a laptray would work, right?
i find the best way is to get a small wireless keybaord that sits on your lap (i have a logitech something something - K360 sounds about right) and a good wireless mouse (razer orochi bluetooth mouse is ace).

then put a cloth mouse mat (razer goliath mini) ontop of a hard covered book that you put next to you on the sofa - something thin but sturdy like an arsenal annual works ace.

    Logitech G500

This is my mouse which I bought a few months ago. It's really nice and doesn't break the bank.

@Ilovechips You'll get years and years out of it. In fact, you'll probably end up replacing it for something shinier long before it ever dies.

Happy with my Razer Naga, it's got a good shape and responds nicely. It's obviously designed a bit more for MMO playing but the side buttons can be bound to pretty much anything you need. It's proper handy for both WoW and Guild Wars 2.

Anyone got a logitech g700? Mine won't remember key allocations unless it's connected via the USB cable.

I've been through several razors, they don't like to be dropped.

I don't carry my mice around with me so dropping isn't an issue

Never knocked one off the desk? You're in a minority then.

I'd love a naga with 6 buttons instead of 30,000 that they currently have.

The wires are tangled to the extent that if it falls off my desk it just snags and hangs there :)

Thinking about it I cant remember ever dropping a mouse on the actual floor. I imagine its quite damaging to any mouse and not confined to a brand though.

@graysonavich When I was scouting around for a mouse I saw that there is a new Naga that only has 6 or 7 buttons, that was apparently designed fir action RPGs.

@Benno No, MS mice can be bounced off concrete and my rat 7 is pretty robust. Razors are the only ones that have actually died from a short drop.

Yeah I linked it above, its probably better than the normal naga. Theres so many buttons its more like a keyboard with a built in mouse

Keeping it on a short wire as you mention is a good idea tbh.

I proper twonked my sidewinder wireless mouse a few weeks ago, apart from a plastic piece covering a small LCD on it there was no visible or invisible damage, pretty suprised it survived it.

I drop my Logitech mouse and trackball all the time. Never caused an issue apart from having to chase the ball across the floor.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

    Bump.

I should probably get a new mouse. My MX510 collects finger poo at an astonishing rate these days, the pads have come off and it's basically an OAP.

Any recent views on good mice? I don't want to spend more than 40 quid really. I think I'm after a decent gaming mouse, but I don't want it to look like a fucking fist-sized Transformer.
