I used a wireless predecessor to that Logitech mouse - came with a docking station, too.

Was pretty decent but they seemed to break every 18 months (tried getting it swapped out under the 5-year warranty but Logitech didn't answer my emails so now I just use a 12 MS mouse)

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

    Still going strong! \o/
    And its dead. ;_;

Or at least dying. The scroll wheel is barely responding at all which is driving me nuts. Need to find a worthy successor now. Looking at either the Performance MX or the G500 which I've seen mentioned here a few times. Anyone have any opinions on those or something else? I bought my MX510 in 2004 when Half Life 2 came out so any replacement will have a lot to live up to. ;)

I'm tired of the Setpoint software and my Logitech G5 is four years old, so it's new mouse timer. I quite the look of this old version of the MS Sidewinder... anyone used this one before?

Any mouse other than the Magic Mouse I normally use :-) I connect a small USB mouse that came with my Acer Ferrari from 2004 and it's SO MUCH BETTER.

The apple mouse is utter shit. I found it hilarious that people defend it because it's Apple.

I'm still using the same MX518 that I mentioned ordering on the first page of this thread, 6 years ago. It's not my oldest piece of PC kit I still use today, my even older MX510 is still in use on a daily basis too.

Not really. It can move a pointer around but it even struggles with clicking.

Heh, I don't agree, but then I wouldn't, considering I actually use it.

I'm kind of tired of Logitech mice and Setpoint and feel like a change. The thumb buttons on the G500 are too close together for my tastes.

The Sidewinder is only $40, so if I hate it, it won't matter too much.

What's the problem with Setpoint? I've never bothered with it myself.

It keeps forgetting my key-bindings for games. I still like my old Logitech G5 so I'll take it to work. it'll be nice to have a mouse with a thumb button there.

I got this thing a while back, and despite the dodgy name it's doing bloody well. Fully configurable, plenty of buttons and five ish dpi settings. Not bad for 20.

I've had an MS Habu (rebranded Razer something or other) for years now and it's still going strong. I'd imagine you could pick it up cheaper than the regular Razer equivalent too, which is nice.

I got a rat 7 and it's really quite good. I'm not a bundle on the adjustable parts, but as a mouse, it performs brilliantly.

I'd love a rat 7 or rat 9, but I'm pretty happy with my MX518, having picked it up for under 20 IIRC.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

Been using a G500 for quite a while it is a decent mouse and gets the job done. However it is very sensitive so dialled that down a bit then made me think.

As i dont need that 5k+ dpi (tends to live at around 3k)would a wireless mouse be a better option ?

I had a Mirosoft wireless gaming mouse for a bit. It tended to suffer from stuttering. Wouldn't recommend it for gaming. It was 50 pounds. The Razer wireless mouse is about 100 quid, not sure wether it's any better.

I currently have my PC hooked up to the TV in my lounge - it's great for watching films/Sopcast etc, but a real pain in the arse when it comes to games that are better played with a keyboard/mouse combo (DayZ, Dawn of War 2 etc).

Any ideas for a comfortable keyboard/mouse set-up - a way that I could use these WITHOUT a desk? It might look a little odd, but I suppose a laptray would work, right?

Because it doesn't stutter and is recommended for gaming.

I have my heyboard and mouse on one of these. I even put my monitor on it when I'm not gaming on the TV.
