So, when do we find out who got it?

I really want us to get it, just to see how pissed off Chirac would be....

Do they have such precise times when they announce from places that aren't Singapore?

It would be great if we got it... I live about ten minutes away from the proposed Olympic site. It would be nice to see what the atmosphere is going to be like, although I get worried how old I will be by 2012!!

It'd be held in those precious last few weeks before my fortieth birthday. Jesus. I'm dying.

If Paris do get it, then at least we'll be able to pop over on the Eurostar and watch an event or two.

I'll be 26 in 2012 and most probably in full time employment!

    Go Paris!
Close enought to get to without too much hassle, and we don't have to pay for it.

There was a bit on the news this morning about the Athens olympics: It's going to take Greece another 20 years to pay for, and they've had to put up VAT to cover the cost.

So half a million people signed the 'Back the Bid' thing.

That'll mean... let me do the maths here...

    59.5 million didn't.

Chirac - hope you win it and I hope it bankrupts you.

/thinks back to when Ireland won the Eurovision song contest several times in a row and simply couldn't afford to stage it again so they put a completely cack song in...

/thinks about Chirac's comments about British food, and mad cows etc

    Hmmm...

    A ploy, methinks...

Okay, okay. I heard it on the news this morning and just went O_o... Who'd've thunk it though, a precise time for the announcement? Anywhere taking bets on whether it'll be late or early?

/goes to place bet on it being late...

exactly my thinking....still I think it would be nice if we won it, to see Chirac's face on losing.

I hope France do win. Chirac seems to be just the kind of cunt who would scupper any G8 plans to save the world because he was in a huff and being a bad loser.

Personaly, I hope the IOC sticks it to the squablling children and awards the games to New York :p

I'm not too bothered if we don't win it (though I'd like to), but I'd love to see Paris fail, just to stick one up Chirac's arse.

That'd mean Madrid/New York/Moscow getting it though, which isn't all that likely
