Do the Silent Hill games control better than the Resi games. I'm intrigued now too, and I might start from the begining.

SOS: Final Escape. Hard to track down but a second hand copy shouldn't set you back more than 8 quid. Sort of survival horror where the horror is an earthquake rather than monsters. Crap voice acting, poor textures, nondescript graphics but compulsive stuff. Short and sweet.

My copy was 3 on ebay last week. not had chance to play yet though :/

people mention beyond good and evil too, which I also got for 3 recently :)

    mmmm ebay

Did well there. Two top games for the price of a couple of mastertronic games 20 years ago!
thats the great thing about buying 2-3 yr old games! It's not worth bootlegging or renting when you can own for $bugger all.

It's a good way to maximise console lifespan too because theres no risk in buying non AAA+ games as they are pocket change (although a lot of AAA+ titles are similar prices)

Been bargain hunting myself lately. Picked up no end of decent stuff. Some games i wouldn't have been happy paying forty quid for but i'm more than happy at a tenner (eg The Incredibles and The Bards Tale)

Except SH1. That does the rotate and run thing. It's pretty bad, but the game makes up for it.

Well, be it on your head now, Blerk - PZ2 is on the way....

I feel safe. You won't be disappointed.

Edit: Make sure you play alone. At night. With the lights out. And the sound up.

I really, really like "Forbidden Siren" on the PS2, except the super Brittish English the super Japanese characters speak. Can't wait for numero dos.

I've got Siren but haven't played it yet. It's in 'the queue'. With a lot of other stuff. :-)

Right, so I ordered PZ2 for a tenner from PLAY, looking forward to that.....

Popped in to GAME at lunchtime, 2nd hand Gregory Horror Show for 3.97. Less than the price of a magazine so really can't go wrong with that!

BC. The best game you lot will never play. You will never know the joy that is forbidden love between a caveman and a Tina Turner cavewoman. Probably. Still dunno why they cancelled it, I thought it was better than Fable. IMO.

Hardwar. Surprised Peej didn't mention it. Excellent in every way, shame I never finished it.

Terra Nova. The game that everyone mentions as the game no bugger purchased. I played it, it was alright.

Battlezone. The best thing to come out of Pandemic. Sublime.

Citadel. Only ever topped by it's apparent follow-up Exile and a game of joy gameplay from start to finish. Exile was too flucking big and came along just at the end of the 8 bit era. I think someone ported it to the 16-bit platforms, but it was again ignored. Shame. Citadel then. Platform sprite heaven.

    I think that'll do.

Cookies and Cream for co-op puzzle madness.

Magic Pengel for anyone who likes to draw. You draw doodles and the the game animates them and lets you battle other doodles!

Links 2004 for gamers who want a realistic and challenging golf game.

Right... Now have Dark Chronicle... Project Zero 2 turned up this morning... I have absolutely no idea where I'm gonna find the time to play all these, if I don't buy another game for months it'll be too soon!

Excellent choices! Somebody hand that man a cigar.

That said, I'd probably wait with the survival horror until it's somewhat colder and darker outside again (read: play Dark Chronicle first ;-)

Bollocks. Probably won't ever finish it then... Still, if it does mean I won't buy anything for months then its a damn good thing.

    Turok 3

This is so different from the previous Turok games that I suspect it didn't start out as a Turok game at all. But thats no bad thing.

It plays very similar to Half Life with various set pieces dotted throughout.
