    I don't know much about checkerboard rendering, but chess games are going to look fantastic.

    I don't know what that means, but find wondering what it might mean oddly satisfying.

    That's almost what I said on the last page of the previous page, but to be fair to him it's almost word for word what wikipedia says on the subject.

    Wikipedia does say that some forms of checkerboard wotsit can base the unrendered squares on what was there in the previous frame, but not all do that. But if they don't do that, I don't see how it doesn't end up basically being bilinear interpolation again.
