The changelog is great, lots of good stuff. Iím glad we can now lock blades.
Ooh, update! Can't wait to try out *those* blades.
Since I'm not buying Kirby now, a NG+ replay sounds good, especially now I finally know what I'm doing in combat.
Not sure whether to get all rare blades before starting NG+. By the time Iíve got them all I might not want to start over.
Theyíve added wandering bards that sell items in exchange for bonus exp, but people on reddit are saying you have to be in NG+ for them to show up.
Hmm, I may go and farm some legendary cores first. I didn't realise that NG+ would nuke your original save, I thought it would be an extra save slot to mess about in.
I think alot of the changes are locked behind NG+, I just tried to send some of my main blades - droma, pandoria etc - on a merc mission and they were not selectable...
I finished chapter 9 last night too, before that I had taken a break from the main story to muck about with blade affinity's and was in Temperantia and thought i would have a crack at one of those T-Rex's for a laugh, I beat one and got a level out of it, I was 70 something, so thought I would try another one and I leveled again, I did this a bunch of times and am now 86, so if you want a quick way to level its to farm those mobs, they have a ridiculous amount of XP, and really dont have that much health, kind of stupid really. I also went and killed that giant ape that runs around Gormott to get some pay back.
But it has made the game kind of trivial now, the fight at the end of chapter 9 was a complete cake walk and I suspect the final boss will not be a problem whatsoever for me when I get there.
The final boss was more about seeing the end of the story for me, I didnít mind that it wasnít much of a challenge. There are plenty of optional enemies for that.

yeah i think my party were around 74-76 for the final boss, and i died a few times before managing it (without Rex funnily enough)
@Tait0 so im level 76 and just tried these dinos at lvl 90. They one shot me with a tail attack first chance they get...
Stupid cut scenes and their "oh you think you beat us do you... Check this out... You lose" crap.
I'm 11 levels higher and still they beat me because of plot reasons.
Try using Morag maybe as she is more of an evasion tank. Also make sure if you arent controlling the tank that you stand as far away as possible, possibly using a ether cannon blade so you can stand at range, dont stand direct in front or behind either, try and get a couple of combo orbs up on it ASAP and then just do a chain, and you will kill it, you will be surprised how quick it dies once you get it right. I did die a couple of times but once I got it I no longer had any problems.
Edit. Oh also I think there is a tell for when he is going to do the tail swipe and it can be avoided if you are pulling off a combo at the time.

Ran through 30 legendaries and 60 rares this morning. No sign of kos-mos.
(This is after hundreds of previous legendaries and rare cores prior to the patch)

I had been saving all my legendary cores I had from playing the game so far and had about 12 and also had 100 rares, so I burned through the legendary ones and half the rares and netted myself another 5 rare blades, think I still need 6. Don't think I am going to even bother opening normal ones now...
@Zero_g is kos-mos your last one?
Is kos-mos better than the other rare blades? She seems to be rarer than most. Canít tell if sheís so in-demand because sheís from xenosaga or because sheís so good.
Woohoo! Just got her!!!
Whilst I was amended this post to say (excluding the ng+ blades)

@ecu no idea. I got her and vale (?) both of which I have read are good for dps build character at end game. But having spent hrs and hrs getting Mythra, Roc and Agate to max affinity and all weapon at lv4 or 5 im not sure if i can bring myself to start afresh with new blades.
Oh, I loved getting a new rare blade! I'd snoop around their affinity chart, see where I needed to have their heart-to-heart to trigger their side quest etc. The rare blade side quests were one of my favourite parts of the game.

How can you tell where their heart to hearts are from the affinity chart.
It usually says something in the text of the affinity node
Just used another 30 legendary and 85 rare cores and no rare blades to show for it. This is really demoralising, I still have 7 left. Iíve had one rare blade in the last 500 or so cores Iíve used (all rare or legendary)I just donít see how this is feasible to get them all at this rate. I will need another 3500 cores, itís just too much.
@ecu are you using boosters?
I have found that I get a rare blade every 4 or 5 legendaries and 10-20 rares as long as I have one of the booster levels +10.
Has the character pulling blades got 999 luck?
The odds of getting a rare blade can be found here:
Itís worth reading. I wouldnít class it as cheating since you are still at the whim of the RNG.

Yes for about half of them. Seems to make no difference, and justice boosters give me earth blades, bravery boosters give me dark blades. 5x justice boosters with a legendary core on Rex for lvl 13 justice gives me a rank 3 wind blade. Then Iíll use a rare core with no boosters and get a rank 4 dark blade. I know itís rng but Iíve bonded SO many of these and from everything Iíve seen itís totally random and nothing ever seems to make any difference to anything. Think Iím just going to start bonding common cores now.
I canít achieve 999 luck, best I can do is 600 something.
Just been messing with premium cylinders. Even as crap aa i am with pressing the button at the right time, I'm still making a profit. I'm just going to the nearest salvage point. Didn't realise you upgrade places by spending money there. I thought it was just doing quests.
Also getting very close to finished on the person i need to keep sending off. Think I'm on chapter 7.
Fyi if you have enough money just buy and sell 99 gold cylinders in each location a couple of times (if required)
The luck only helps. Check + luck % on blades, give them chips for +50 luck (this is dependent on their weapons).
Give the driver + luck and + luck % accessories.
Higher level drivers also seem to have higher luck.
I wouldnít suggest using more than one booster at a time for pulls - I found that they took too long to farm (although releasing unwanted common blades of the correct element is also an easy way to gain them).
FYI using a booster doesnít guarantee one of the correct elements will show up but in my own experience it did affect the odds!
Using Legendary cores massively increased the odds of a 4* blade though. I now have loads and Iím running Merc Missions to harvest them for overdrive protocols.
Iíll keep levelling up to increase luck. With Rex at lvl 78 I have Comet Choker (luck 31%) and Gold Gear Choker (+27 luck), and also three blades that have 50 luck boost. Luck is now 655 using common blades with luck boost stats. Unfortunately theyíre both hammer users so canít carry a luck chip..
Which Iíll really need since they have massively nerfed legendary core drop rates. People on reddit have reported Arudun now dropping less than 4 legendary cores per fight compared to 15-20 pre-patch.

@Zero_g thanks for that. I've "only" got 300k, so have to be careful, especially as some nopon is after more than that from me (money grabbing puff balls). But I'll have a look and will also see how I can increase my money.
... Though really i just want to finish the story now, but i'm not strong enough yet.
