As with most of these things, once one talks they all talk

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/film/2017/oct/11/the-allegations-against-harvey-weinstein-what-we-know-so-far

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.hollywoodreporter.com/amp/news/twitter-suspends-rose-mcgowans-account-1048018

Not only women who were harassed but men too

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/amp/james-van-der-beek-terry-crews-back-harvey-weinstein-accusers-n810016

The Mail had their own take on it of course

    https://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/375/cpsprodpb/12EFF/production/_98276577_capture3.jpg

I wonder who will be the next to be accused?

Holy fuck that Mail headline is absolutely outrageous.

It's sort of like the Saville thing. Everyone knew/knows, everyone is complicit. Bunch of cunts.

Rose McGowan has been one of the most vocal people about the whole thing since the beginning and has been posting lots of revealing emails and messages on Twitter that show how deep the rabbit hole goes. She got banned from Twitter today which is super suspect. Some very very powerful people involved.

Weinstein is obviously despicable but he's unlikely to be the only one. Harry Knowles is another.

You would wonder why he hasn't been charged with anything yet.

As Kal said, this is likely the Savile moment for the movie industry and there are probably a few who are shitting their pants right now.

I'd say the main difference from Saville is that Weinstein wasn't fucking kids.

Where this is different is the complicated issue of consent. With Saville for the most part this was a moot point as the victims were so young/disabled etc, but with Weinstein this is quickly going to get into some very sticky stuff.

The whole 'casting couch' culture of Hollywood is hardly a secret. It's literally been a joke for years. This is clearly as you say though is the moment it stops being funny, and we really find out how insidious and pervasive the whole thing really is. It's going be huge. And grim.

Polanski took care of that one.

Thanks. I am a cynical bastard. Weinstein's sexual proclivities have been a butt of jokes for years, but some part of me still thinks that some of these sucked the hairy wrinkly ball sack and didn't get the promised fame and riches.

Thanks. After hearing him mention it on Graham Norton I'd always just assumed it was true.

He checked himself into rehab for sex addiction today, which seems very much like a precautionary measure against the court cases to come. There's also a few actual rape allegations as well as countless accusations of assault. He's been a very naughty boy.

The response from the right to this has been appalling. Like the ex-Trump advisor who suggested that if all blokes too Mike Pence's stance, none of this would have happened. Errm, how about not groping women?

    Edit: Not Senator

Peter Binskind's Down & Dirty Pictures is a great read if you're interested in the background to the Weinstein's industry dominance.

Spolier alert: they're not portrayed as very nice people.

It's hard for the right to take a stand when the President has been recorded bragging about sexually assaulting women. Which I still can not get my head round how that wasn't the end for him.

Is this Pence's rule that he can't be alone with a woman who isn't his wife because either she'll be unable to control her libido around him or he's unable to control his and will force himself on her?

Looking a single photo of him led to one of the quickest 'he did that shit' reactions in history.

tenuously related, wasn't there a documentary recently about hollywood peados?

edit for spelling that i'm still unsure of but unwilling to google whilst at work...

It's pretty much an open secret that Hollywood is absolutely riddled with it. Bryan Singer is something of a nonce apparently.

Hate to say it, but isn't there an element of truth to the Mail headline? Especially if you consider the likes of Affleck and Damon to be part of the liberal establishment. I mean, we don't know they knew, but as others have said, it's likely one of those things that lots of people knew about and no one wanted to put their head above the parapet.

Admittedly I'm not sure I understand the angle they're taking with the brother and wife thing. Surely not taking his side?

There has been talk about Bryan Singer being very unsavoury, another story about some big star who raped Corey Haim which led to his suicide and don't forget photog Terry Richardson a well known sleazy douchebag who is endlessly celebrated.

Apparently theres rampant child abuse in Hollywood as well. I wonder if this is the start of the dominoes dropping.

Sure, but that's the dumb part.

Edit: Well... dumb... political dickary is maybe more accurate.

No no no, he waits a whole second after they're legal to fuck them. He just shacks them up in his mansion for a bit first. Preferably twins.

    See also: Roland Emmerich.

It's more or less known that this was Joel Schumacher. Corey Feldman has been pretty overt about it.

EDIT: Actually a little googling reveals maybe this was vicious rumours. Not sure.
