I'll be interested to see what the provider markups are on these anyway.

Barely anyone is going to buy one of these outright, so a bit of data and 200 up front + 50 a month + free spotify or whatever isn't quite so bad for 2 years.

    But we'll see

I'll definitely get one, when it cost around thirty quid with a free small bag of pubes from CEX.

How much of a markup over the iPhone 7 Plus is the X?

Maybe it's more going over the 1k figure that's so seemingly outrageous..

I almost forgot, because of all the new hardware releases, that iOS 11 drops next Tuesday :)

Isn't the 7+ 256gb already 900 alone anyway? Might not be that much of a mark up, but it's still an extraordinary amount to pay for something you'll mostly use on the shitter.

Don't forget the pound is in that same shitter. We got screwed before, but with inflation this high they are even more expensive than 'normal'.

The only thing Microsoft has ever done which is worth copying.
Obviously not since Apple just copied Kinect.
    that was easy.

Tell me you aren't talking about AR? Because no one is copying Kinect. Even Microsoft are pretending it isn't a thing.

Ah you are talking about facial recognition approach.

Over the 'traditional' handset, which remained the same price. The 8 replaces the 7 at the same price point and the X is considered to be a new product at the higher price.

They now have 5 models in their lineup which, again, match samsung fairly closely:

Is $349 the most expensive the cheapest iPhone has been? I seem to remember when they still did 5s models as the bottom end those being around $199

Apparently Apple are stating that the X will be available on a two year contract from 49.75 a month.

Considering that's 1194, I assume you'll get very little in the way of data in that package and you will likely have to pay something up front (eg 200).

That has been the thing thats getting on my tits about looking for a new contract.

    'GALAXY S8 27.99 A MONTH!'

    500mb of data.....

Sim only is the way to go otherwise they just give you a shit contract. It's expensive to get a new flagship and a decent data allowance. I ended up buying a 128GB 6s plus 6 months old and it was still 500 .. but combined with unlimited 4G from three I use it non stop.

I used to be with giffgaff and just bought the handset through them, pay it off monthly then grab a sim deal of my choice which ultimately worked out the same cost as a contract anyway.

They really need to prove this face ID stuff for me. It seems more inconvenient than Touch ID at every turn at the moment. I'm thinking of upgrading to an 8+ from a 6, but I reckon it'll be around 55 a month to get anywhere near my 12GB contract from Three (at 22).

They still need to prove TouchID to me, half the time it works ok but all the rest when it doesn't takes me much longer than the old way did - swiping left for the number pad doesn't work so I've got to wait until the software decides I've failed enough times to offer the option. Can't say I'm keen to keep putting down and picking up the phone to initiate the process every time it fails

In no way shape or form can you compare Apple to Rolex. That's just a ridiculous comparison.
Not really. A 10 watch will tell the time as well as a 10k rolex. A 50 phone will make calls and
check emails as well as a 1000 iPhone.
Not comparable: a 10k Rolex shows that you have too much money and are probably a wanker, whereas a 1k Iphone shows that you have too much money and are probably a... oh.

I managed to get an S8 last week for 36 quid a month with 10gb data and nothing up front. There's deals out there but not so much for IPhones, and Christ knows I tried. Even the 6s' were up there with the S8's and Let's of the world. Might change with the 2 new handsets out but I wouldn't guess by much.

You're a wanker if you buy a phone you don't like?
What kind of a small-minded cretin are you?

It works for me, every single time, instantly on a 7s Plus.

Agreed, ive found coverage to be rubbish with Three.

Thinking about moving to EE, free Spotify is tempting.

Well it doesn't work for me every single time, and guaranteed fail if I've been on the tools and my thumb isn't in best shape. Turning it off doesn't work either, still have to slowly press the home button twice to bring up the prompt, my last 5S was much more reliable and quicker for log in

I know a couple of people who have got really angry over this. Doing the whole blind, stupid sheepy thing. They just don't get it and prove themselves to be the blind, stupid sheepy. They are so easy to wind up too. I love doing it too :) People on both sides just need to chill.

Didn't Samsung try and remove memory card slots in a particular model and their users went apeshit?
