For 30 notes i'm expecting some rough edges.

The Project Cars of Golf, if you will, but hopefully it actually works.

I've been craving a decent golf game for ages; the last one I really got into was Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 on the PS2 that I used to play quite a bit with my dad when I was a kid. I was tempted by the first Golf Club but read some bad things about it that put me off, haven't heard much bad about this one though so I'm wondering if this might satisfy my cravings.

How are the swing mechanics in this game, sticks or buttons (can you put spin on the ball mid-flight? Not sure if I prefer being able to or not)? Is the single-player just practising the courses by yourself or are there some tournaments against AI or some kind of career progression? Are there pass the pad local multiplayer options too? The Steam Page for this game is very short of information!

Stick swing, no spin mid flight, single player you can change names of ai and change course set up. Yes to pass the pad local multiplayer.

Is there any single player career progression? The blurb suggests so but is a bit vague. Played the first one a fair bit, liked it, but would have liked a little more structure to it.

Have just ordered this. Didn't realise it was out yet!
Really enjoyed the first one. Much more of a golf sim than the arcadey Tiger Woids series. Loving that they kept the same commentator, never got tired of his sarcasm! Great community involved with it as well.

Yeah there is a separate career mode where you can create your own or enter preset tournaments against ai etc.

Just downloaded and did the tutorial and then did a round on Black Brook. Finished up on 2 over and eagled the 16th! Liking it so far. Hopefully they can iron out the pop in on the trees

Best bit about it. Can't just walk up to every shot, tweak for the wind and just hit it full power and end up right where you want like most golf games. First golf game that's made me think about how to play a course like I would in real life. Laying up at certain yardages, aiming for the big bit of a green rather than always at the hole etc

@y2rich I agree. Had 2 rounds this morning on different courses. First I got 4 under and the second 22 over! It's set my handicap to 8 over. It's a shame it's not cross platform. I'm on ps4 . We should set up a society if someone hasn't already

There's quite a few negative comments on steam saying that the putting is really hard and it's difficult to read greens. Is that accurate?

Putting is hard. I'm still trying to fully work it out. It's sometimes brutal which can ruin a round. It's more the power I'm struggling to read rather than the green. I'm glad it's a challenge though compared to other games. I'm sure it gets easier with practise

Its hard as nails and why I like the game, anything under par is well played and like mentioned its nothing strange to be near 20 over par on a bad round.

Take note of the green speed when picking your course as going between different speeds is a shock at first

Aye green speed can make a course quite simple to play or an absolute monster.

How many folk we got on PC? Up for a few rounds at some point

    Cheers, added both of you.

I got my own society that I'm pumping money into to upgrade but did join the open for everyone in the official list, not sure how many we can join.

That looks incredible. If a little overwhelming.

    Downloading the podcast now.

Might actually get around to booting the game up tonight, too.

    @KD

Pretty sure you can join unlimited amounts but only one can be a primary. I set one up for me and a mate but seems a bit pointless with just 2 of us. I've not joined any online one yet.

Am I being totally thick or is there not a way to delete a society you've created? I'm looking everywhere and can't see a delete/remove option?
