The gameplay shows you being able to aim the gun at varying angles.and they specifically pointed it out as a feature, I don't see how this is possible without the second analogue, unless you can only do it standing still but we shall see

The developer diary video posted on the previous page (I think) stated you could only do that when standing still. I haven't checked the launch video to check that, but certainly all of the video in the diary video matched that criterion.

I will be getting that for sure! Mind you, i'd buy it just for the soundtrack, the Metroid OST is my favourite!

No plastic tat? Apart from that keychain ball, and probably parts of the signet ring.

Is the soundtrack specifically Metroid 2 or is it the series generally?

Twenty-five tracks from across the series.

I hope it has Phendrana Drifts :)

This one LE where I regret having a US 3DS. US is OST only I think whereas I would like the artbook etc here too. Wonder if it will be a sensible LE or a Nintendo (let's not make enough copies) LE. Wonder what the pricing will be... I do already have an eshop Metroid 2 GB though that I got with star point equivalents before they stopped doing them.

'kin hell, all the usual places have this as 40 just for the standard edition. When did 3DS games get so expensive?

I'm still waiting for loads of 3DS games to come below 30 quid. They hold their value something ridiculous. RRP has always been 40 quid I think.

I swear the last few I bought were only 30. Oh well.

I keep thinking of getting a Switch, not really as a home console but as a replacement for my venerable 3DS and Vita -- but not while there's stuff like this on the 3DS's horizon.

@quadfather I would suggest going to store.nintendo.com and registering interest. Then you will get an email when it pops up.

Anyone managed to pre-order one of the limited editions yet?

amazon.de had some yesterday apparently - all gone
amazon.fr had some as well - all gone.

Can't even see it on amazon.co.uk.

I managed to get a SNES pre-order in, but this one is being even more elusive. I guess I should count my blessings.

You could register your interest on the Nintendo store a little while back. That's the only place I've seen it even listed so far.

EDIT Actually, now I think about it, that may have been for the standard edition. Hmm...

Registering interest is just for the game in general so will get a notification for all things associated with it.

I'm starting to get really annoyed by how limited Nintendo's limited/ special stuff is. It's ridiculous but they've actually created a situation where i worry about whether I'll be able to give them my money or not for the things I want to buy! The Switch I can understand being in short supply as that will be produced for probably another 5 years, but the mini NES/SNES, some of the amiibos and some of these sorts of special editions shouldn't be as hard to get as they are.

That being said, I completely understand why they do it now. A friend and I were annoyed that we couldn't get the Majora's Mask amiibo, then they put a load of the Zelda one's back in stock on their store and my friend then proceeded to buy everyone that they put back up through fear of not being able to get them again.
