Played 30 mins or so. Enjoying it but there are definitely niggles here and there.

I hit an issue early on where my guy was no longer in tbe middle of the screen so any speech would be displayed off screen and that makes understanding what you have to do quite tough. Going inside the clubhouse seemed to reset the camera

I was initially enamoured with the retro feel of everything, but the longer I've played, the more the shortcomings are starting to shine through. It's certainly no Mario golf, especially in terms of the actual mechanics of taking a shot. I don't think it helps that I'm playing it alongside Thimbleweed, which is modern gaming emulating a retro feel done to perfection.

But it was £15. You can't quibble at that price.

@David_Richardson I am in agreement. Was enjoying it but have run into a few bugs and glitches. One of which required a hard reboot of the switch.
But I agree for the price I am enjoying it.

My first dive in was just a quick game of golf. On hole 3 or 4, He was aiming it off into thin air. I moved the reticle and it really not clear in which direction the green was. Is there any kind of map/zoom out function?

I'm now in story mode and really not clear on what I should be doing. Think I'm going to reset my brain and clear preconceptions.

An answer re the map/zoom out thing would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Click the left stick to zoom out, - button shows you the controls at any moment.

Doesn't moving the right stick scroll the course? Does in story mode I think.

I had some of the text missing off the screen earlier, at the end of the treasure hunt on the second course.

Is there any info on game length? 10, 20, 100 hours? If it's around 10 that would be suit me better with my gaming time that's all. Is everyone still enjoying it?

Hard to say for sure and it depends if it comes back around on itself but at the moment I'm on the second area after a couple of hours and I believe it's got 4 or 5 of them

Edit:game informer has a review that says 8 courses.

@Addy_B Yes, I sure am. It's a funky little game, if you like the idea it's well worth a look.

At under £15 each I think most people would buy both

I've bought Golf Story, and fancy Valley and Verge.

Definitely room for both but as pixel art games go, any casual eshop browsers are going to recognise Valley instantly.

If anyone has seen the film The Castle watch out for some references in Golf Story. I was massively impressed when I saw it.

Wasn't entirely enamoured a few days ago in my first hour but a couple of hours this evening now has my hooked.

    Lovely little game.

I'm not enjoying this. I don't understand why they thought it would be a good idea to have fucking moles moving the balls into bunkers, especially on the first round.

It's a little too tedious for my liking. Does it get fun later on?

I have played about 5 hours now. My summary: It's an ok game. Not even considering the glitches, but everything is just ok imo. I wished there would be more rpg-stuff. It's basically just some meaningless tasks involving golf, so you get to play "actual" golf.
Not saying it's bad, but just ok. :|

Quite an extreme reaction to a golf joke. Have I missed something?
