Think we can set a club up as well for playing against others. If mine arrives in the morning I will have a look.

You are of course all assuming that the full release net code will stand up.. I have my doubts!

The beta was pretty much perfect after the patch. Keep the faith.

Have they got height adjustment on the replays this year?

I realise it's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things but I hate the shitty boot level replays.

All reviews very positive so far with all agreeing that the on-pitch action is sublime.

The only negative each review mentions is the lack of licenses......someone should really explain to these reviewers what PES world is.

Licensing is an issue if you're an Xbox owner from what I understand, you can't just import it pal over like on PS4, but I do agree, reviewers treat it like an unsolvable problem. Don't really agree with it as being worthy of marking the score down, but that's just me.

Enjoying the Demo but the keepers are still a bit iffy. Like the feel of the passing can see an improvement over ball control can't wait until the 14th.

What drives me mad is the amount of reviews that every.... single... bloody.... year say "the lack of licences is still a major drawback and in 2017 we really shouldn't have to play as Man red....etc"

WTF do they expect Konami to do when EA pay millions to keep all the licenses for 5-10 years at a time??? So many people seem to think it's Pro Evo being lazy not having licensed teams when in fact it's EA being bullying, monopolising cu*ts!!

Plus like you say, the whole issue is solved by downloading a patch.

Played some of the FIFA 18 demo last night and compared to this it's an absolute mess. Looks blurry during gameplay, ball feels like one of those plastic ones you get down the petrol station and I saw more 'eh what the f**k just happened' moments in 2 games than I did in PES all of last year.

If it reviews even close to PES because of 'licenses' then something's up.

FIFA is always reviewed well I would expect 9's across the board. PES plays a lot smoother the players have weight behind them. FIFA has gone to far towards simulation.

FIFA is not a simulation. Other than the fact that there are 22 players on the pitch, a ball, and a goal at each end, there is nothing 'simulatory' about FIFA at all.

The ball physics are terrible, the players have no turning circle and can change direction without any issues, the whole contact side of it is ridiculous, like they've taken that part of the engine out of a early 2000s THQ wrestling game, and almost every. single. game. plays out in exactly the same way, regardless of who you are playing as, or against. There's just no individuality to it.

So without turning this into a PES vs FIFA war, and with respect, FIFA is about as close to being a real version of football as Yaya Sanogo is of playing for Barca.

Scored a header with Draxler last night that he didn't touch by a good yard and the ball warped through Luiz face. Courtois went to save it and finished his animation before the ball got to him so it bounced harmlessly over his hand and into the net. Everything in the game just felt 'off' slightly.

Anyways back to PES, does it unlock at midnight tonight on Steam?

Totally agree - to me it feels like football played in outer space. The players are really floaty too and the ball physics are awful and that includes when it hits the back of the net.

@StrayBezza indeed. Realise I'm kicking up a FIFA vs PES debate here but I don't get the love for it outside the licensing fact which is a non issue a week after release with option files etc

Ultimate team is pretty great, i'll give them that.

Myclub is a bit shit in comparison

Could be wrong here, but something tells me that Random Selection Match will become so popular that it could rival Ultimate Team. Of course it won't beat it in terms of sales, but it's a breath of fresh air and EA seem to be scared of changing something, taking the Call of Duty path.

I actually enjoy Fifa (have loved PES, mostly, since PS1 days) and thought Fifa 17 was pretty good - but judging by the demo its taken a huge backwards step. Maybe the full release will be different - I want to try the demo again to check I wasn't imagining the full shitness of it.
