Well I have no desire to play it anymore except maybe to finish the raid.

The fact that I've seen all this before, the complete lack of new classes, enemy types coupled with the severe lack of any gear really shortened its lifespan for me.

Destiny is a weird one, at first it really feels great and when you're in the prime levelling stages it's a blast. What follows is scraping around for the possibility of a carrot which extends your playtime but instead of feeling like a value proposition you feel like the time has been stolen from you.

So I'm out, I'm getting better at identifying a joyless grind and this is so much that. Bungie really need to think carefully about where this is going. I won't be signing on for Destiny 3 unless they manage to do an actual meaningful end game.
We'll check in on that in 3 years ;D

Looking forward to doing the rest of the raid, tho.

too soon to judge for me... there is clearly space left to add stuff and I have been playing a little more laid back and have alts to go. having a weekly level up and the occasional raid fits with my schedule too

Yeah, looking forward to getting back to it, back other than that I've almost stopped playing at this point.

Destiny as a 'hobby' would seem to have been shelved by Bungo as a design goal. D2 is merely a video game. A good one but not a classic to be remembered for years to come.
That's ok I guess. We all love a good 7/10 video game here

Very well put, it's both a blessing and a curse in that regard.

I just want to make sure we all realise something.

    Destiny 2 is not Warframe.

    Warframe is not Destiny 2.

    They are different games.

Is there any way of keeping track of which faction in winning in this event? And do we get anything other than a cheaper, slightly underwhelming weapon for backing the winning faction?

@Graxlar_v3 didn't they say the winning faction just gets it cheaper?

There are some OK armour bits from the factions as well.

@Frogofdoom if you check the vender it has a tick box that says it unlocks if your faction wins. If you are aligned to that faction of get it for 1k otherwise you have to pay 50k

Ahh I thought you got your own factions gun, just at 50k if you lost.

I am always at the glimmer limit - what am I supposed to do with glimmer?

Glimmer becomes am issue late end game. Almost everything requires it, from applying shaders to infusing.

You don't get glimmer for sharding legendaries either. I've got 400 odd legendary shards and I have not a lot to spend them on. Especially since Xur has sold dupes for me since the start.

You will run out eventually on the grind and it's a resource you'll have to manage going forwards.

This game can be exhilarating. Finished the Nightfall with 5:03 on the clock: you're mine now, Rat King, you're mine...

I'm jaded with it all. Not interested in the Crucible, and my experience with randoms in the strikes is just everyone Leroy Jenkinsing off into the sunset while I am still trying to get my bearings in a new level, all while facing their leftover aggroed mobs alone.

I will come back to check in on future content, because the shooting really does feel good, but Helldivers remains my goto satisfying co-op/social experience.

@JiveHound I've done loads of infusing and shaders. It's not that expensive?

I am still at 9500 glimmer. I think I get a lot of glimmer from publics and strikes.

@Technoishmatt I would buy and store mods when you hit max glimmer. Drop it down to abut 50/60k

@Zippity-zap have you tried running the strikes with a clan/friends. It's the best way to experience them as it can be done in a slower pace, most people will have completed a nightfall or 4 by now so will be used to speeding through the stages as quickly as possible so having friends do it means you can tell them to slow down.

Thanks to 2 peew (shadow thi3f) and poor_outs (not sure of eg tag) I got through a prestige nightfall last night \o/. The Aura you get looks hideous but it isn't being removed for shit now. Also managed to get to the final boss room (which, annoyingly we still haven't beat) of the raid in an hour 20 last night. Once we get the rythmn of the encounter down it really isn't going to be a long raid (for better or worse).

@Technoishmatt it costs me something like 20k glimmer to put a shader on my ship or sparrow. I've been scrambling for glimmer ever since I hit 280 PL

Buy mods, convert them to legendaries. About the only glimmer stuff worth pursuing.

    Completely agree with this.

@Zippity-zap - Playing with randoms when you're learning strikes isn't ideal. They'll run off and assume you know everything they do. What console do you play on? There's enough people here on both consoles to give you a hand. I'm on PS4 and I'd happily do some strikes with you at a slower pace so you can experience them properly.

My clan finally beat the boss last night. Once you understand the mechanics it's actually quite a chilled raid. Some of my team hated the pleasure gardens at first (stealth allergic gamers) but once you know what you're doing it's quite straightforward. Same applies to the boss encounter.
