It was about Tucker controlling Chris Langham, even though he is the MP. That is Tucker's job. I agree though he has perhaps getting more air time.

Did you read about the attempted american version? They totally castrated it and turned it into a clean average sitcom! Now HBO might try again!

Ah, thanks. Wouldn't want to walk into work on Monday morning and get that quote wrong round the water cooler.

Terry to Malcom > Do you need a hug?. Very funny episode 6 over the weekend. Best thing on telly.

The phrasing of using "Sack of cum" had me in stitches. Reading the scripts must be a scream for the actors.

This is the best thing on TV by far. I didn't watch the previous series but I've watched every one of this series. Twice. Best sitcom since the Office or something.

Just caught the last episode - at least I assume it's the last episode given what happens - and HOLY FUCK. I refuse to spoiler tag something that was on telly days ago, so be warned!

That was a long time coming and absolutely electrifying. I really hope they do some more following the fallout, particularly how it affects Malcolm, as I would find the subject of what happens to key figures like him after their political career implodes very interesting.

I deeply hope it's not the end of Malcolm, though. He is the show.

WOOHOO just realised there's one more ep to go. Awesome.

He'll be back with a vengeance. I can't wait :oD

Absolutely cracking series. Rebecca Front is really great in it and the cast as a whole are so good that I don't miss Chris Langham like I did with the specials.

edit: oooooh - one more episode to go, Malcolm's revenge might be sooner than I thought \o/

They were going to get rid of him after the specials (the second one has a very similar moment).

In a way things have been a bit disjointed since the first series because the characters no longer correspond to politicians (at least not ones who have been around for a long time).

If anyone can get me a video clip or MP3 of the bit in episode 2 where Malc talks about giving someone the Carrot and Stick treatment, I'd be very grateful.

yeah, bestest thing on telly. Just shows up In the Loop for being the missed opportunity that it was. I also thought it was the end of the series \o/

I'm also a bit interested in seeing how they deal with a change of government, assuming that will happen between this series and the next. Does Thick of It live in an entirely alternative universe to ours, or will there be an equivalent "tory lot" in instead?

Thanks for expressing interest in my signature!

Well, they've been showing more of the tory lot this series than they did before (though I believe they turned up in the specials first) so I'm assuming there will be another series with a different lot in power.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Great to hear that there's another episode to come - it really is the only thing I just HAVE to watch on TV.

I can't imagine they would actually make a series with the Tories in power prior to an election. What if it doesn't happen?

Love the way Malcom calls the Mnister 'Dora the Explorer' :)

My bet is that Malcom will start working for the Tories and will try and bring them into power, setting up the next series.

    Good bet.

I liked that scene with the - what was it? - Notting Hill food that Malcom was giving the journalists. What was it called?

The best show on TV at the moment, definately in Britain and i suspect the world, and no one on here is talking about it. This is the successor to alan partridge, blackadder, brass eye, the original reginald perrin!

I just watched the last episode of the current series and I simply can't get my head around how awsome it is. True that it's extreme - I'm sure its a highly compressed comedic representation - but its so well written and so well acted and so very funny.

If anyone has let this pass them by, get on BBC IPlayer now and watch it properly.

    increase the peace

Last episode was weak. Didn't laugh once. :(

Just watched it, it was great!

More 'intellectual chuckles' than usual in this one, hope there's more Tucker as I'm not sure about the Tory lot. But we'll see :)

Was introduced to this over Xmas - was released while I was away. Quality stuff. Shame it has a pedo in it.

He's not a proper peado. He was just "doing research".

He's only in the first season anyway.

Pedo is as pedo does. He's good in the first series though.
