Played it for about 20 hours on the 360 but chucked it as it was so poorly written, the animation was laughable, voice acting unintentionally comical. And that gameplay... I'm sure it would've passed as enjoyable and mechanically sound in the late 80s.

I literally fell asleep playing it on PS4.

Why would anyone buy this on Switch? If you've finished Zelda, just delete your save and start again.

If you bought it on 360 and thought it was shit and then still bought it again on PS4, I think you may be the exact person who would buy it on th Switch!

@Quacktastic It came free with my 360 and it was gifted to me for Christmas on PS4. I figured I may as well check out the extra gubbins in the PS4 version to see if it improved things.

I've never willingly paid for Skyrim.

Well yeah but it's massively at the whim of the framerate, which looks solid in this version. I think I'm going to get it.

Some new footage out or something?

I'm absolutely not getting it again (Zelda has made Skyrim look like amateur hour), but I'd like to see how it runs.

I would love to play this on Switch, but I have totally exhausted this game with zillions of hours of playtime so I won't be going back.

I'd rather play through Zelda again tbh.

my favourite quest in Skyrim was the one where I had to go to a cave and kill some draugrs

Never played it. Would it be worth it for someone like me or liked Zelda but didn't love it like most do?

I haven't played it either, but my impressions are that it's different enough from Zelda that they can happily co-exist. Plus I have Zelda on the Wii U not the Switch.

I wouldn't compare the two. Skyrim is more of a traditional RPG of course, with voice acting, and quests, and a pretty free character development, etc.

Have you ever played a Bethesda RPG? They are huge, huge games that some people lose themselves in for hundreds of hours, but they do suffer from a wonky presentation and rather mundane writing.

I have a love/hate relationship with them, but I've never really regretted buying them.

Have you ever played a Bethesda rpg post 2005? It's one of those. If you like open world rpgs it's pretty essential. Amazed there's people who still haven't played it.

I suppose the fact this one is portable might be a game changer. But I do think twice about recommending this to someone in 2017 who hasn't played one before; it's going to be a bumpy ride.

To be honest it was a bit rough when it was new...

Yeah same, I might have been tempted at a lower entry point but I'm not paying c£45 for a game I already own on PC and Xbox and have sunk 100's of hours into, no matter how cool an idea portable Skyrim is.

Skyrim is my favorite game of all time ! I know it’s not to everyone’s taste but I love world it inhabits. But ..... the £50 price tag is taking the piss to say the least. This should be £25 and then I wouldn’t think twice.

This is an interesting one for me - lets throw a different opinion in the mix

Agree, £40 (grainger games) is a lot of money for an old game... but there is a flip side to it. Plus, compare this to paying monthly for something like WoW or some of the app purchase based mobile games people sink $$$ into... its not THAT bad value.

If you think of it in £ per hour, you are getting a pretty good deal, yes its out cheaper on other consoles but they aren't portable, and perhaps they are just insanely good value vs this one just being good value?

I love Skyrim but didn't play the DLC, so that alone is worth it to me...

Even having owned it on the PS3, on PC last year (then qualified to get the Remaster for free) I would be prepared to get it again. Sunk about 80 hours into the PS3 and 20-30ish on the PC. The thought of playing it in bed with earphones in and being completely immersed is a massive draw. Never played the DLC either.

But fuck paying anything over 30 quid for Skyrim. Have they confirmed whether it's the Remastered edition?

I dunno. Skyrim is probably the Bethesda RPG I've enjoyed the most, but I've really bounced off their products hard over the last few years. They've basically been making the same sorts of games over and over since Oblivion, but my tastes have changed.

It's possible that it being portable will be the thing that gets me coming back, but not really at that price point. Maybe in a sale or something.

Do people not use the likes of the South Africa eShop? £35 there which is still expensive but not too bad for entertainment value per £.
