I wish it was on Switch instead, and as I also said in that thread, I really don't understand why they didn't bung it on both. Ah well. Hopefully it at least gets a port somewhere down the line.
I suppose while there is a child market to consider they have to keep up support for the 3ds and make it look like a valuable proposition. Shame as this would have been a great appetiser for the later released Prime 4. Maybe it will release later as an accompaniment?

I'm finally making my assault on Hyrule Castle \o/

Well, I was earlier, anyway. Saved it about halfway up the winding path, having done a bit of exploration along the way.

I want to get it finished without leaving, so what's the deal with going back into the world post-final boss?

Saves before sadly, no post Ganon state as far as I know. Unless the expansion pass allows it in preparation for the new DLC.

Cheers ears. So you can only go back from that save, then?

There's no post-Ganon state in the world itself, but the save file does indicate that you've completed the game. It also unlock one or two other things to do in the world, but it's otherwise identical.

Cheers Kay. I am intrigued by these other things. Hoping to finally 'finish' the game this week.

I am also intrigued, I noticed the star that depicts the completed game.

Hmm, I've avoided spoilers and walkthroughs so I am intrigued also about these other things.

    110 shrines
    300 korok seeds
    4 divine beasts
    All armour sets maxed

I don't want it to end though, I'm enjoying it so much! ;)

Those other things are really minor, and there's no indication of them being unlocked... one of the things I can think of, off the top of my head (spoilered for those that haven't met the "monster parts guy")

Kilton keeps track of all the sub-bosses you've defeated in the world, and then gives a badge if you kill all of one type.

I've just approached it for the first time, dicking about outside it :)
Need to do my final divine beast...

It's kind of bullshit that Lynels can be in a room, not be able to see you, and just fire arrows straight up and have them hit you. In a room with a roof, no less.

I finally found that last memory. And I also realised that you can search the 'fossilised' guardians. Doh!

Yeah, I often farm the old guardians for ancient parts to make arrows.

Finally found the last memory last night. :)

I had a crack at Ganon last night. Went in woefully underprepared - no useful elixirs, little useful food, all my fairies used up by the time I got there. Still, I managed to get him down to 25% fairly easily, but then he started shielding himself and absolutely every attack he made would hit me :(

I did a bit of prep late last night, so I might have another go later. Is the Docks Shrine the closest one?

The Zelda Encyclopedia is up for pre-order in Amazon UK. It's a follow up to the previous books but focusing on lore.

It may have taken me six months, but I've finally defeated Ganon.

Think I'll let it sit now, and come back to it when the second chunk of DLC releases. It feels good to finally have finished it though, and I do wish I hadn't had such long periods away from the game in hindsight. I'm sure I'll play through it again at some point though.

Good lord this game is incredible. Put in about 50 hours so far and I still can't wait to go back to it - so very rare that a game will do that for me.

Done all four divine beasts, think I've gotten every tower. Got about 50 shrines but only about 25 korok seeds. Not really fussed about the seeds tbh. Would like to do all the shrines before fighting Ganon though.

Just got the Master Sword too. Tried doing the Trial of the Sword a couple of times last night and kept getting killed on the second last level. So annoying! But I will beat it this week... Really want to get the Master Sword powered up!!

Losing my Zelda mojo a bit. I think I haven't played in several weeks.
I was up to the camel diving beast but the 25 arrows I had for my first attempt weren't enough fired a bunch from too far away to hit the feet it seems and then failed my 2nd attempt with 20 arrows. I couldn't be bothered with a 3rd go.

Still a bunch to do. A whole region to explore, 2 beasts, haven't been near the castle, a few memories to unlock, Have only found 1 fairy so far ...

It's autumn though, so more playtime available in the near future. :-D

I have all the beasts and over 70 shrines. 105+ hours so far. Putting Zelda on hold until the next DLC comes out and then I'll do some more shrines and fight Ganon

    120 shrines
    305 korok seeds
    4 divine beasts
    All armour upgraded
    300+ effing hours

Just the last boss battle left but I don't want to finish...

I'm going to put on my big boy pants and do it before Mario Odyssey releases.

I'm 105 hours in and still loving it, I've usually had enough by thisstage no matter how good the game.

How long does it take you to go through the Trial of the Sword?

It's broken up into three smaller trials, first one has 12 levels I think. Took me about 25-40 minutes to get to the end (and then die). Spent longer on my first go creeping about, second go I went a lot faster as knew what to expect etc.

If you die, do you go back to the very beginning or to the beginning of the mintrial ?

For those of you that have completed the main storyline

I'm just coming up to my 4th Divine Beast now, i have 13 hearts and a full stamina wheel. I don't have the master sword. I only have about 4 memories.

Given i'm not great at hacknslash, how much more do you think i need to do before i can go ahead and tackle the end of the main quest?

It's not that i'm particularly bored of the game but i want to try and play a few other things, and if i just stop playing there is a reasonable chance that i never get back to it, so i'd like to finish the main quest
