Korok seed are a little different in that it;s a very simple puzzle in the gameworld that are designed to not intrude on your current goals.

The Moons are often new mechanics or new mini levels that are, alot of the time, worth playing. Even when they task you with replaying the boss battles, they change an element to make them harder to achieve. It's not so much a simple throwaway thing.
Plus, you don't access the final kingdom until you've collected 500 moons.

So I can't respond to everyone individually as I'm on my phone and I'm at work, working really hard!

To summarise and sort of respond :

    I enjoyed the game.
    Found it too easy.
    wanted more challenging platforming sections.
Didn't play it for the story.
Don't care for after game item hoovering.
Felt there were too many boss fights.

I finished the game with 396 moons which was a lot more than was required for the main game. Unless the game is going to throw a load more brand new worlds at me, rather than giving me additional pipes to jump down in the same old worlds, then no, it's not enough to make me want to carry on playing for 603 more moons unfortunately.

I got my money's worth from it so it's done it's job in that sense.

There aren't that many. You have just over half.

It doesn't make sense that you can breeze through the game with very little challenge, but then they offer you levels that NOW test your platforming and control skills to the point of frustration.
Of course it makes sense, they did it in SM3DW too. They want people to be able to finish the game. Then after that if you want more, it's there. If you don't, for whatever reason, you've still experienced the game. If they'd put the post-game stuff in the main game people like you wouldn't bother finishing it.
I agree with both of these points, but once I'd finished and saw what was on offer, it kinda made the main story feel a bit flat imo.

Probably because I love platforming through levels that I've not seen before - that's the thrill for me, as opposed to revisiting the same areas to get difficult/out of the way moons - that seems weaker to me than actual platforming goodness and new areas and exploration.

I guess I like levels more than moons.
FFS, I could have saved myself all the effort of my above post if I'd have noticed yours first lol.

You've basically nailed what I was trying to get across.

Once the game finished, it throws certain challenges at you that could have done to be in the main game imo.

But agree 100%, levels over moons!!
Great minds, and all that :)

A lot of the post game directly addresses the above. Admittedly you have to dig around for it a bit, but there's a lot of real wheat in there along with what you consider to be chaff.

    You might be surprised.

But, as you say, you got your money's worth out of it. Job done.

Obviously people will have played different moons than others when only finishing the main quest, I haven't seen the t-rex in new done city, or the folding levels for instance and I've seen the bad ending.

I was missing just two moons in one kingdom. I found one of them (found with kingdom art) and although it triggered and I collected the moon, my list has not updated. Not only that, but my game auto-saved and if I try to recapture the moon its see-through.

If there is any award for 100% completion, I've just been robbed of it.

Edit - Ignore me. I've just figured out how these moons work and where they get credited to. Phew...

I don't know what it is, but I absolutely suck at any level which requires hitting one of those speed orchids. I've just had about 15 attempts to get to the highest point on the one in the Snow Kingdom. Absolutely ridiculous.

You're not holding up on the analog stick while running, are you? I find I do that out of habit. It's actually much easier to steer when you realise you run forward automatically.

Having said that, I'm still pretty awful at controlling them.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just keep doing a hard turn either right or left off the edge every time I try to snag another flower. Also, the camera doesn't help as it alters the input on the left stick depending on where the camera is.

My enjoyment of this doubled after finishing the story. Finally found some really nice interesting challenges, love the new versions of boss fights -
    so much to do.

    Fantastic fun!

My feelings on the game went from 'yeah this is really good if a little claustrophobic', to 'holy shit this is amazing' once I spent a few hours learning to chain all the different jumps together. It all just opened up in front of me.

@Thingy if it's the level I'm thinking of, I did that this evening by mostly ignoring them, having Mario jump through the water, then only used the last couple because I had to. Took me a while, kept falling off the edge!

    190 moons and counting. :)

Yes, that's the one. I've managed it now and I know where I was going wrong. Any input on the left stick while throwing out the cap will end in disaster.

Yep. Finished it and I’m not the type to play post game on any open world game. Great game while a little short (story missions)

The story is a bit of a tutorial TBH, the real game starts once that's over.

You're missing out on the majority of the content. If you enjoyed collecting moons isn't it worth trying a bit more of that? Its not like there's actually a 'story' to follow in a Mario game.

@Gregolution yeah I know but I’ve never been the type to 100% a game. Don’t care for trophies and achievements on the other consoles too.

Tbh I wasn’t expecting any story from this. It was fun. What else more is it other then collecting moons

It's just collecting moons. But so was the beginning of the game too. I think alot of the post story stuff is a bit more fun to do though. Harder platforming and a few more ideas.

If you enjoyed the story id expect youd enjoy what comes after that's all. No need to go for 💯 , there's just alot more fun to be had in there :).

I do think Nintendo are masters at making 100 percenting a game enjoyable however and I'll definitely be trying.

For the flowers, I hold the analogue stick in the direction I want to go (as if I was running). This means holding up and moving to slight diagonals most of the time. The trick is adjusting for the camera.

Just bought this, it's on its way from Amazon. I was going to go digital but since my son is pretty much taking over my switch lately I can foresee him wanting his own before too long.

Saves buying it again if he can just put the cart in his switch.

Looking forward to it. It'll be my first modern mario game since mario 64

212 moons, adjusted the camera to "very sensitive" and that seems to have ended the motion sickness issue for me so I can play for longer.

Just finished the luncheon kingdom. Had sweaty palms at times! :)
