@One_Vurfed_Gwrx haha yeah I heard that game is a beast! Next game out for me is DQVIII in a couple of weeks, can't wait. One of my favourite PS2 games :)

I wanted to preorder DQVIII but too many games this month I want (and I have to import it so pricier) so may have to be next month.

And that's the NES Trilogy down. Super Mario Bros 3 actually holds up amazingly well. The controls are fine-tuned by this point and the level design is as strong as in the Galaxy games and 3D World. Each level is a new idea. Something I failed to appreciate as a child and one most developers fail to appreciate today.

    01. Super Mario Bros. (NES) 02/01/17
    02. Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES) 02/01/17
    03. Day of the Tentacle (PS4) 06/01/17
    04. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) 09/01/17

I'm juggling a fair number of games at the moment, half of which are technically uncompletable, so it'll likely be another Virtual Console game I complete next.

Ah, I forgot Rez Infinite - that was actually the first game I completed this year. Brilliant game in VR.

    1. Rez Infinite (2/1/17)
    2. GH Live (2/1/17)
    3. Rayman Legends (9/1/17)

Once I start FFXV and Ni No Kuni I suspect my completion rate will take a tumble!

Done pretty well this year so far. Let's see...

    1. Last Guardian (well, started it in 2016 but I'm counting it here, ok??)
    2. Stories: Path of Destinies
    3. Bloodborne (played first few hours, decided after completing Demon's and Dark Souls that I just don't have the time/patience for these games anymore)
    4. Invisible Inc (played first few missions, didn't click)

Got Telltale Batman on the way, really excited about that.

    #1 Battlefield 1 - Campaign (01/01/17)

    #2 Life is Strange (09/01/17)

What a great game, it took me far too long to get around to giving it the time it deserved. It isn't afraid to take it's time to set everything up and I found this slow pace really refreshing. Once it gets it's hooks in it's hard to put down.

Added bonus of a collectible mode which makes it an easy game to Platinum.

    #1 - 02/01/17 - Super Mario Run -iOS
    #2 - 07/01/17 - Outlast - Xbox one -
    #3 - 10/01/17 - Murdered: Soul Suspect - Xbox One

I like story/adventure games, and this was a pretty good third person hybrid one, but it did glitch on me at one point (try going back to a previous checkpoint if it happens to you, it seems to fix it) and it was a bit frustrating at times finding the collectables. Still, quite enjoyed it, though coming out of Outlast and into this, I think I'm done with "scary" games for now.

    #1 10/01 Watch Dogs 2 (Xbox One)

First game of the year done!

Definitely an improvement from the first Watch Dogs (except the driving controls which are still crap) and pretty fun for the most part with just a few frustrations stopping it from being a great game.

Oh yeah, I forgot I finished Watch Dogs 2 this year as well! That's #4 done :)

I really enjoyed it, put 30 hours into it which I almost never do in open world games (I tend to get bored of them a little and just focus on story missions, but here I did every side quest - which I don't think I've done in a Ubisoft game ever!).

Was more fun than the first one, although the story wasn't great. The RC car and quadcopter were brilliant, loved doing an entire mission from inside my car parked across the street, grab the disc/hack the computer and then just drive away.

#1: Day Of The Tentacle Remastered (PS4) 10/01

First one in the bag, now to push on with the backlog! Gravity Rush and Dishonoured look like a good pair of contenders to me, alongside the ongoing playthrough of FFXV.

    #1 Battlefield 1 - Campaign (01/01/17)
    #2 Life is Strange (09/01/17)

    #3 Limbo (11/01/17)

This was on PS Plus at some point last year, always thought it looked interesting but never seemed to get round to it. Most will have played through it by now, it's been out almost 7 years! Great little side-scrolling puzzle/platform game with a distinctive art style.

This sounds great, maybe I should play more than the opening mission and chatting on the Beach ;)
I loved the first game as well.

Haha, it is a lot of fun dude. I enjoyed the first game a lot too, but this grabbed me more (even though the story probably isn't as strong, which considering I can barely remember the story of the first one is probably saying something!).

I do also love the online side of these games. Hacking people is very addictive!

I've made a list of the first 10 or so games I intend to play this year. I'm going to try to plan out the stuff I want to play in blocks like this to get through some of the backlog. Everything will be subject to change, and there's no time frame to each game or block of games, and it will include some new releases as they come out (but I'm reducing these massively this year). I don't expect to hit the 52 for the year - the last 2 years running I've managed around 30.

I should have #s 4 and 5 done and into #6 by the end of this weekend.

Good plan. I think I played (and completed) 23-25 on both of the previous years.

@Angry_Man_Dan how long did it take you? 10/10 seems like I need to get on it!

@kadooosh Played it on and off over about 3 days, didn't take long - about 5 hours total.

If I was to give it a score, it would be a 7/10!

I'd give it 10/10. Great script. Great Characters. Great visuals. Perfect length. I loved it.

    01 Final Fantasy XV (03/01/2017)
    02 Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (12/01/2017)

Why did I take so long to finish this? I have no idea, but I've had a couple of days off work so I decided to grasp the nettle. Holy moly that was something! The only issue now is that I want to completely replay the whole lot from number 1. This might derail my efforts to complete my backlog...

A backlog that contains further embarrassing admissions of games started by never finished....

    #1 - Batman - The Telltale Series (PC) 8/10 1/1/2017

    Number three done ...

    01. The Unfinished Swan (PSV) 01-Jan
    02. Azkend 2: the World Below (PSV) 07-Jan
    03. The Deadly Tower of Monsters (PS4) 12-Jan

I had almost bought this before it was on PS+ and I have enjoyed it; plays on the B movie schtick to good effect and a worthwhile 6 hour playtime. Could go back to finishing off more of the trophies but nah I won't 🙄 ...

    01. Diablo3. Mac/PC
    02. Reaper of Souls. Plodding through this, should give it a couple of hours and get it done. However....
    03. Mass Effect. I'm going to try and finish all 3 before ME4. By Jesus, the Mako is a piece of shite. My first play through and about 4 hours in so far. Estimates say about 20 hours for ME1 to complete the core game. I'm just gonna bust through 'em if I can.

    1# Final Fantasy 15 2/1/17 (3/5)
    2# Need for Speed Rivals (12/1/17) (3.5)

    Need For Speed Rivals.

Decent. Good arcade racer as usual from the chaps at Criterion. Not sure on the Layout of the career mode, but the racings is fun. After i finished the cop and racers career didn't really feel the need to compete the other events. There isn't much in terms of extras to find and not much to do beyond the events on offer. A couple of online trophies means that i won't go for plat.

    3.5

    #6 Virginia

Great game. Second half wasn't as strong and story got a bit lost but I really enjoyed it.

Reporting Game 3 & 4 in the bag.

Decided to sort out not finishing Halo 4 and 5 so started new campaigns. Enjoyed them both, god knows why it has taken me so long to get round to them. Halo 5 sets up the final part of the new trilogy well.

Game #1 Final Fantasy XV 03/01/17
    Game #2 Gear of War 4 06/01/17
    Game #3 Halo 4 09/01/17
    Game #4 Halo 5 12/01/17

@Derblington The Full season seems to run around 10 hours give or take. I think Batman slightly less. Wolf slightly more if you care about achievements as there are some you wont get in the first run through. Thats going off steam run times for the 3 I played but there were times in each where it was left paused so its not exact.

I will try The challanges out this year - completed games only

    1) world of final fantasy 12/01/17 9/10 I bought on vita and PS4 but found myself spending about 32hrs of the 40hr campaign using the vita. It is such a good game, a real old school final fantasy
