That's a shame about Doom. The reviews didn't really put me off since most VR stuff gets middling or mixed reviews, but I'm inclined to trust reactions in this thread more, since we seem generally excited about the medium.

Doom looked pretty fun in Ian's video, though I've only watched the first 30 mins of it. I might still grab it at some point.

@quadfather I’m going in for another 30 minutes later tonight. Drunk.

    Wish me well

I've been slowly building up my PSVR game collection through these sales (currently Dirt Rally, last one Battlezone + Batman).

Now I just need the Rev2 of the headset to be available... :)

Love the fact you can peep over corners in resident. Brilliant game so far. But will likely take me about 4 months to complete.

Absolutely amazing game, but I struggled to play it for more than 20-30 minutes at a time due to absolute terror it instilled in me.

Those mold creatures in the basement - I'm surprised my hair didn't turn white

@DJBobHoskins that's a good read, thank you, & I think there is every chance my resistance will slip soon! Retrospectively gutted I didn't jump on that Ł250 deal...

My son kept disturbing me so had no time to pull out the VR as he would destory the cables.

Will be back on Monday so you will need to wait for the outcome of my pants getting browner.

Even though Amazon have listed the V2 headset, they aren't going to swap the old one for the new one. Bit of a rum job, since they said originally I'd get the new version.

Anyone played Skyrim VR with the DS4?

Thinking about getting it as my PSVR has been sitting silent for the past several months.

For those interested made a small video of the first Doom VFR encounter. I'm using full movement with the DS4 (I have good VR legs), but still getting used to the aiming.

Thought it might give some an idea of what it is like.

@pelican_ What do you think of Doom VFR? It looks fun to me in that video, but as always will depend on how it actually 'feels' when you're playing it and most people have seemed pretty negative. I'm really on the fence.

    @pelican_

I have, it works perfectly, in some ways better than using the move controllers.
Movement is certainly better with DS4.

I got DOOM VR for 12 quid but intend to use it with my AIM controller (which is for tucked away under the tree!), so have just patched it and will go demon killing on Xmas day :) They may have released a few more patches by then

Tried playing my mates skyrim as we both have a copy(mine is still sealed) and I just can't get on with it. Even with the move controllers I lasted about 10mins before I had to give it up. The moments with the move just got on my wick plus then I was getting motion sickness again. Going to sell it.

Really enjoyed the heist game with the move controllers. Really impressive

Skyrim does take a while to get used to, you need at least a couple of hours I think. When you reach a point of not having to think about the controls you can really enjoy it.

Jah, I was wrestling with chunks - struggled to get to the first save-point before deciding that it was a bit too much for me. I'll pick it up again in the near future once I've found my VR legs.

Tried the Wayward Skies demo today - I really love these slightly more 'static' third-person games in VR (Moss was equally great).

    Allumette is pretty jaw-dropping, too!

I got used to Skyrim after a couple of hours.

It helped a lot when I smoothed out the movement on the second control stick. The flick movement made me feel terrible. (But then I gather some people hate the flick movement.)

@Stranded87 I quite like it, although I've not played much after my small video.

Flick movement is worse than full movement imo.

Looks like smooth turning has been added for Move control in Skyrim.

    Praise Talos! Also:

Added rotation speed for smooth rotation
Added option for crosshairs when using PS Move controllers for spells

Also a bunch of bug fixes including the auto-unsheathing bug that sometimes triggers when you had a shield equipped.

That’s good to hear. Can finally start aiming my fire bolts properly rather than them flying off in any direction but my target!

I've been massively impressed by VR. I have Doom, Eve, SWBF, Superhot, Rigs, VR Worlds, Resi 7 , Farpoint ( I also have the gun controller), Everest and a few others. It's pretty awesome.

It's impossible to describe to someone what it's like until you've tried it for yourself.

    Any other recommendations?

    @Reacher

Polybius, Thumper, Playroom VR (free) and Rez are all missing from your list. Sort it out.
