    Anyone care to explain what exactly is meant to happen with the mining? Went to two locations and they're bare.

    Parts of this are just... dreadful. Yet I love it.

    Soundtrack and visuals are Nintendo levels of good l, that's what's pushing me through the bad bits.

    Swapping styles seems a mite fiddly it must be said.

    @FuzzyDucky

    Is that when the mining volume is 'inaccessible', or something along those lines?

    I went into a couple of the mining sites, maybe a little under-equipped, did okay with one of the bosses by throwing things at him but struggled a bit against the other one. In fact I wasted about 25 minutes, really annoying as it was just a waste of time when I could have been doing a proper mission.

    @Syrette Yeah that's them.

    Had the exact same experience - managed to defeat one boss (had a sliver of health left so got very lucky) but went to another (otherwise empty) mine and got caned. Game made zero attempt to explain what was happening.

    I'm concerned about the amount of gems available. You don't really get any for story missions and some of your later upgrades are easily into the five-figure mark.

    Ditto Dusty Tokens. The most expensive item costs 6,000, after 15 hours of gameplay I have 12 of them...

    Are there more than one boss per mine?

    Need to get back to this, as I've not played it in a couple of days now. And Yakuza 0 is staring at me from the shelf :( Too many games!

    Is the Raven's Choice DLC free for a limited time only? Do you get a download code in the box (i.e. you won't get it if you buy a pre-owned copy and the code has already been redeemed) or do you just get it as an automatic update?

    I'm just wondering whether it's an added incentive to buy the game sooner rather than later!

    @chrisp It's advertised on the dash as being free and isn't put for a while yet.

    I'm simultaneously love and hate this game.

    Far, far too many missions are Assassin's Creed-style instafail stealth bullshit. I'm on mission 10 at the minute and can't even tell where the damn start point is without triggering some alarm.

    So far this game is just The Adorable Adventures of Kat, and I'm loving it. Been a while since I've played something so charming and engaging.

    @FuzzyDucky

    You only get a mediocre talisman by taking the mining site mini boss out, too.

    A load of gems would be better.

    @Syrette Yeah it's a bit lame.

    I scored about 500 gems doing a mine last night, bit it was mindless clear enemies, open ores, rinse, repeat. Just dull gameplay design.

    I redeemed my ShopTo codes last night and got the director's choice OST. I saw there was an option to download the tracks :) Didn't do it at the time as it was late, but that's nice.

    The repetition and shit gameplay (okay, combat) is killing this, tempted to chuck it :(

    Just finished the first one, which I've enjoyed. Combat is simple and a bit crap but you can get so powerful that it doesn't really matter as it doesn't stop you. Camera on the flying can be a little annoying in the Challenges but otherwise it was very Nintendo in it's approach.

    Looking at videos of number 2, I really like the added colours in the environment and general added clarity in being built for the PS4. How much of an improvement is the sequel on the whole?

    The setting is astounding

    The gameplay retains all of its weaknesses (vagueness in your goal and failstates, spazzy controls and oh so repetitive).

    Mission 14, there's an instafail stealth section that is borderline broken, just tried and failed 20 fucking times.

    The lows in this game are much lower than the first.

    I can't say I'm feeling the negatives others are. Maybe it's just me, but that arena fight at the end of Chapter 10 gave me Vanquish vibes, dashing and switching powers all over the place. So good.

    Stealth isn't that bothersome either, it gives it good pacing where other games would drag on. Maybe I'm not far enough in the game yet though, but it seems to be a matter of following instructions and paying attention, alert levels are very forgiving.

    Also choose control layout E. Switching powers is easy and I feel like leveraging all of your movement and combat abilities in succession is how it's meant to be played, which that scheme offers.

    @FuzzyDucky My tip to make the game so much better is swap circle and R2 in button assignments on the PS4. It means you can aim and use statis time and makes combat more fluid.

    User Ror should be pleased that I've finally done my duty in supporting Sony's best IP.

    I try to budget myself for one full price release a month (with exceptions...), and with me not being blown away by Nioh's last trial and Horizon's recent footage not doing much for me, as well as a desperate need to offset the relentless depression of Witcher 3's bad ending, I chose to opt in on Kat's Wonderful Adventure as my Feb game instead. Why wait? :)

    @grassyknoll

    Hmm, might give that a try (to see if it makes the combat better) although I don't really have a big issue with the controls. The camera winds me up sometimes, although to the given the nature of the way the game is played getting the camera to operate perfectly at all times must be an impossible task.

    Not long to go for me as far as I know, now on chapter 21.

    As pointet out by others, Yahtzee did not finish the game, and I am quit confused to how people miss the final chapters. Still do agree about the plot, its like there are three big stories, and none of them get the time they need. The stealth missions where bad, mostly becaues it limest Kat's powers.
