User Ror has pointed out the surprising lack of a Gravity Rush 2 thread. Like him I can't wait for the title.

    Give now pls.

Out December 2nd (same day as Steep, busy day for me potentially).

I pointed it out, but did nothing to address the situation. So good work ;)

Can't wait, I absolutely adored the first one.

Shit, this AND Steep on the same day?

There's only so much freefalling to my death I can do.

Steep looks terrible. Why do people care about that?

    @Derblington

    Because of the premise?

Also the comparisons to Skate and SSX.

    As above.

I just love winter sports games in general.

Even Gravity Rush's thread can't gain any excitement. :(

For me, this is my most wanted game for the rest of this year, it looks stunning, the OST sounds fantastic and from the looks of it, controls have been improved dramatically. This just seems like something that would have been made in the PS2 era if it was technically possible. Just hope it does well.

I like SSX (and 1080) as much as the next man but the demos I've seen of Steep look nothing like that. It just looks bad.

    But fair enough.

Maybe this is why we didn't have a GR2 thread.

Is it me or does Kat's voice sound different?

I think the new footage is absolutely stunning. The lack of interesting from gamers is just so bizarre to me, it feels incredibly modern and technically pretty high end (with a great OST to boot) and a throwback to gameplay and ideas akin to the PS2 / Dreamcast era, but no one seems to be interested. So so depressing.

Is it on vita too? Or did that get cancelled? I forgot.

First was great, so I'll definitely get it at some point. Glad to see her moggie chum is still hanging out with her too.

Looks like plenty of diamonds to collect and a nice large area to explore too.

    Second is a PS4 exclusive.

I have the first, unplayed on both Vita (PS Plus freebie) and PS4 (picked it up in a recent sale and will play it soon). I'll be getting the sequel providing I enjoy the first.

It's just a niche game, we'll just have to accept that. The first one made my Vita purchase worth it alone, I adore it that much, but it's a fairly niche game on an already niche platform. Sure, it was remastered for PS4 (and it was an excellent job), but Sony didn't bother to market it at all - in fact, iirc, it was supposed to be digital-only originally, and fans had to badger Sony to get a disc release.

Or maybe I'm thinking of the original there, can't remember well enough to be sure.

But either way, we'll just have to be happy it exists, and tell anyone we think will like it to at least give it a look - I managed to make a couple of friends into GR fans by showing them the game. It's never going to be doing millions, but hey, it is a thing that exists and it looks fucking glorious.

I've definitely accepted it and wouldn't expect it to sell a lot, but this game isn't even niche, I don't think this will even be in the top 40 in release here (or gain any traction anywhere). Just seems like the end of an era when it comes to certain types of games, the evitable failure of this game personifies that.

I think it happened with both formats (EU Vita was originally digital only, as was NA PS4 - or super limited numbers at least).

This will test my resolve in picking up a console again, will feel a right plumb looking at it in a shop.

Gonna stick on the first game's fucking glorious OST for a bit!

Sony are going to bury this aren't they? :(

I can see this being the PS4's Bayo 2 and W101 moment.

I love pretty much everything about these games, apart from the enemies. The nevi are so dull and uninspiring compared to the beautiful artwork on display.

Apparently there are humans and mechs to fight aswell so hoping they are more fun to fight.

I love their design and think they fit really well with the world. I'm also quite partial to the deeply satisfying *crash* noise you get when you hit their weak point :)

Really wish this was on Vita, mostly because I don't have a PS4 but also I think it suited Vita really well.
Playing on Vita was like peering through a window into Kat's world, I often came away from feeling physically disoriented from all the crazy spinning.

Replaying the first, and I wonder how many innocent people I've accidentally murdered by gravitying them off of the edge when flying around.

The Gravity Rush 2 demo is available on Japanese PSN for 4 days, it requires a Japanese PSN Plus account, but used a 2 day trail by attempting to upload a save (no bank card required!).

They'd be dumb not to release that worldwide.

It's a niche as fuck game which is unlikely to sell well as is, but it's also a game that will convert a lot of non-GR1 players if only they were to have an opportunity to get hands on with it. This is one game that can really benefit from a playable demo.

Loving the look of that second video. Playing the first on Vita at the moment, and while I love it, I don't love the rough edges. So this is very welcome.

    Reminds me of Mario Sunshine.

    So demo impressions:

    Good:

    * The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.
    * The game looks stunning both artistically & technically, full of character & spectacular.
    * The UI is so so good (never really bothered by this).
    * It's a joy to fly around.
    * The new gravity states add a bit more complexity & variety to the combat.

    Not so good:

    * The camera can have trouble tracking you in tight spaces.
    * The gravity state changes are assigned to the touchpad for some reason.

Overall I really enjoyed it, it's just more Gravity Rush though, no dramatic changes or additions beyond that (although the demo is very short).

    * Just to add, if you're playing the Japanese demo, press X, then O once you start playing, that allows you to try the extra states.

I adored it on Vita, but have been playing it on and off on PS4. Need to finish it soon.
