Thats what my girlfriend said too. Lol. Wouldn;t exactly call Anakin and Padame's relationship "long-term" though.

I'd call it "worst on-screen relationship ever" I think.

Course, if Anakin's willing to become evil overlord of the galaxy because of the intensity of his love for her, then maybe the lack of a silver wedding anniversary ain't such a big deal.

Oh for God's sake - don't bother going to the cinema if you can't suspend belief a little bit. Stick with documentaries !

Anecdotally there's lots of people who just gave up living when they lost their life-long partner.

/is getting fed up with people who seem to think Star Wars should be absolutely real in every way.

Hey, why not pick fault with the fact that in space you can't hear anything, so all those whizz-bang sound effects ? Throw them away.
Why is there an orchestra playing all the time ? Cut the musical score - sorry, John Williams.
Everyone speaks American English ! Oh. Sorry. Forgot that life-forms are most likely to be amoebic.

For crying out loud, it's a film. It's a work of fantasy that many millions have enjoyed. It provides a fairytale for the 20th Century and it is slightly hamstrung by the fact that the original film was always intended to be a bit of a Flash Gordon style romp. Good fun but nothing serious.

/ Picks dummy up off the floor, runs it under tap, etc

Edit: This post is aimed at those who keep criticising the films because of minor technicalities, like why ETs were in SW EP1.

Oh no! Don't get me wrong, I'm not like that at all! The Star Wars series is probably my favourite set of films. I thought of that no-sound-in-space thing too, but I always let things like that go, especially when it comes to Star Wars.

There is absolutely NO WAY you can enjoy these films if you slate them for being non-realistic, in fact, its half their charm!!

I just felt it wasn't something you could commonly die from, if at all! To me, it just felt overly silly and an overly dramatic (and convenient) way to die.

As silly as Chewy suddenly sporting twin jet packs that emerge from the fur on his back. Possible, but silly.

Daryoon and others, you've made some good points, but my criticisms, in my mind, still stand.

Don't get me wrong. I really really really really really wanted to love this film. I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan. I was one of those that actually liked the other two prequels because they were 'more Star Wars' for me to watch.

But I came out of ROTS disappointed. I can see that the majority here liked it and I'm very happy for ya all ;) And sure, there were some cool bits in it which I did enjoy.

But overall I felt it was poorly executed. My own opinion of course ;)

It was a clunky scene. I can see the frankenstein reference but is it necessary? Just seemed to be a badly directed scene let down by an emotion-free "nooo" when it needed a screamed "NOOOOOOO!".

What was supposed to happen? Darth Vader finds out he's killed his missus and it's all been a waste. Hardly going to say "Ah well, worse things happen in the Outer Rim. Let's build a death star for a laugh!" was he?

Indeed. I looked, but saw no sign of it. Although I didn't think it was in there, is it?

The depth of analysis some of you are giving this movie is absolutely, completely, 100% fucking ridiculous. christ.

PLEASE move out of your parents basement. Wait no, don't.

    What are you talking about?

They're ona forum for some joyous banter and this mometn it happens to eb about Star wars. The moment they turn around from therir pc or do something else it isn't even on their mind.

If you go through life the way you suggest you could only make short superficial comments about things after which you don't bother to follow up on it.

Discussiong and (yes) over-analyzing movies is part of the fun.

Yeah, you're right Mike. It was an asshole post i'll admit, so I deleted it. Other peoples hobbies shouldn't bother me.

I maintain though, that they should focus on enjoying the movie rather than finding reasons to dislike it.

Oh take it easy. I was going to remove it. It was just for Tengu's benefit.

edit: there you go, it's removed.

The question begs: What happened to Anakins legs and arm? Why didn't Palpatine just stictch them back on?

Yet his body didn't? The swipe was when Anakin was at the apex/zenith of his flippy thing, so the odds of his arms/legs going in and his body not seems very high...
