You'd think he would be keen to invest himself (Suralun). Through guilt, if nothing else

Unfortunately not, but perhaps I should Photoshop something for page 3? (in the best possible taste)

Oh, and there is a competition that may be of interest to his followers.... ;)

Have him draped across the bonnet of a green Austin Montego.

Issue 1 was a roaring success! If you think it may be your cup of tea then you can download a free 8-page sampler of the fanzine from here.

Good job on the first issue! It now resides in its proud place next to the crapper, where it continues to confuse guests to this day :D

    :(

My 464 developed a fault fairly early where the colour red wouldn't display at all, as well. Sometimes it would flicker back on, to tease me. So, double pleb.

FWIW I was still using my brother's 6128 that I inherited while most of my mates had MDs and SNES, so yeah, I was hardly lording it back in the early 90s.

I was proper filthy little pirate back then. I had a ROM box for my 6128 that allowed me and my mate to copy pretty much any games on to blank discs to use.

I had a Matsui two-deck cassette player that enabled my filthy pirating.

Pirating Amstrad CPC games is more of a masochistic crime against yourself than copyright infringement.

    I've got 3 464's, a 6128 and a massive tub of games.

    Never play them.

I was checking out some 464 games on YouTube the other day having never actually played on a Amstrad. The screen scrolling was lol and the sound was utterly shit.

I have in the past year or so tried to get the CPC version of Pang! to run, which I had a lot of fun with in my youth. Unfortunately, as a GX4000/CPC-plus game, a lot of emulators I tried wouldn't support it.

Still, I can always play the arcade original in MAME, but it'd be nice to see the CPC version again after all these years.

@mal WinAPE would probably be the best emulator to play Pang on. Should support decent control options for multi-player as well :)

@Concrete Really? I couldn't be prouder that it's taken pride-of-place next to your throne :)

(I'm still trying to convince the missus that a magazine rack next to the john is a good idea)

Yup, so far it has survived 'emergency bog roll shortages' :D

It also started a conversation with my 4 year old daughter which led to us playing CPC games for an evening. I tried in vain to sell her Saboteur but she really enjoyed the Ninja Turtles coloring in game for some reason.

@Concrete Don't risk it! I went for silk paper rather than matt, you'll have a horrible brown smeary mess!

    Love mine.

Worth upgrading with RGB-HDMI and USB storage.

Only just seen there was a second issue :(

Are you going to allow people to buy it after release?

Also, now living in Spain, they are all CPC mad out here, regular meetups where they lug all their kit down to the local community center to show off their latest code.

@Ryze yeah. Not saying they are crap or anything. I used to own one with a modulator in 1987 but it gets overlooked for the c64. I spent a couple of years amassing all the C64's best games.

Just don't have time for everything at the moment.
