I had a weird thing with my One X where I pushed the guide button and it dimmed the screen but no menu appeared. Couldn’t get into any settings. Just had to hard reset. Never had any other issues for the last 3ish years on this current gen of Xbox.
Now this one I have had happen twice. Always when playing PUBG, so I as assumed it was due to the jankiness of that, or were you playing something else?
I was playing Quantum Break which is also a bit janky on the X. Very flickery shadows etc as DF showed a while back

Is anyone else playing Witcher 3 on their 1X and finding the voice overs lag behind the lips by a fraction of a second? It's enough of a lipsync issue that I really notice it.

Playing it in performance mode FWIW

I have been playing it a bit recently (I'd parked it to wait for the patch) and haven't seen anything like that. I'm playing it in the 4K mode though.

    Hmm thanks.

I too haven't played it (despite buying it at launch!) so I'm really reluctant to ask this in the Witcher 3 thread in case I read spoilers :p

It'd suck if this is a problem with the performance mode- the game is stunning at high frame rates.

Oh, I had played it - I played about 20 hours at launch and just didn't get into it despite loving the first two, and then started it again last year. I got to a pretty pivotal part of the game and then decided to take a break to wait out the One X patch.

How far are you? Might be worth posting in the thread and just not trying to read the posts above yours - I posted about some stuff in there last night, but I was intentionally vague, so those posts should only make sense to those who've played it.

Have you tried it in 4K mode to see if the issue persists there? I'll have a go in Performance mode later and let you know if it happens there for me.

Tried exiting the game and reloading, fixes a shit load of issues with the game on all formats.

I'm still in the starter village! Thanks, I'll check out 4k mode (and also try a reboot of the game as reddit suggested the instant-on can cause issues).

Just grabbed Gears 4 off Ebay for a great price.. having not played a Gears game since the second one is this much better? For reference i loved Gears 1 but wasn't too keen on 2.

Hoping this looks the business too on the X :)

4 is pretty good. Looks lovely and the new weapons are a blast to play.

If you haven't played a Gears for years then you should have a good time. If you're a casual fan and have played them all then it could come across a little tired. There's only so much that can be done with the format.

I liked it enough to want to replay it some time soon.

I imagine this is a 'bit' of a niche question but here goes :

Anyone know of any issues with backwards compatibility games with features running TOO fast on an XBOX ONE X?

I've been seshing Lost Odyssey and all was well on my old Xbox One but with the Xbox One X the ring timer count down at the top runs out before my 'outer ring' even begins it's journey.

Anyone else experiencing the same? Or heard of anything similar?

It's not game breaking although it does make the random battles more repetitive without having that mini-game inside it.

Fun game but wondering if its xbox one x or just i have a corrupted save or something?

@IronGiant - Gears 4 really shines on the X - as always it's best played in Co-op - for me at least.

Yep I played Gears 4 the whole way through split screen co-op with the Mrs and we enjoyed it. I was tired out of Gears back at gears Judgement but this was enjoyable!

Gears 4 campaign at 60fps is a spectacle and it plays so much better with the decreased latency.

Good news for you then - the mentioned issue doesn't affect Oblivion, which really is improved on an X :) Guess you're still buying one after all. Let us know what it's like when you do.

@IronGiant personally, absolutely loved Gears 4. Loved gears 1 and 2, but was a bit fed up by the time Gears 3 showed up (still completed it though) and never played Judgement. Gears 4 was a return to form for me, and after years without playing a Gears game, it was surprisingly refreshing. Gears wasn't the game that launched cover based mechanics in a big way for nothing. They really nail it. In fact, I've just bought Gears Ultimate Edition now as I'm hungry for more (and it's only Ł6.99, new, at Grainger Games).

Visually it's an absolute tour Dr force, especially if you have an HDR telly. Whether you prefer native 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps is up to you. I dabbled with both and the 60fps, whilst not locked, is actually very stable. The 60fps definitely feels better but I ultimately found I wanted the sharpness of the 4k and was able to adjust to the 30fps update. I wouldn't recommend the 30fps mode if you constantly jump back and forth between the multiplayer and campaign as it will be more jarring and harder to get used to.
