That Honda thing for the daily today is a bit twitchy. Had a couple of not bad races at lunchtime in it though.

Also the daily oval today is quite fun as it always ended up (2 races) with about 8 cars within a second of each other. Amazingly my safety rating went up in both races. Not sure if the system was being more tolerant of minor bumping or not.

@Decks Anything other than 50% will extend braking distance, front bias means the front wheels need to do more work for brake and steer - so you'll understeer if braking too late.

reverse is true for rear brake bias. i tend ot run -2 rear
I just asked this same question after playing around with it last night during some races, I felt after fiddling it's best left alone for my skill level 😀

Anyway it depends on the type of car and what you want to achieve, if you have aero then as a rule copy the aero balance. But can also be used to adjust for the weight of the car during fuel burn and also turning characteristics. Again it didn't seem to work for me, anything other than 50% saw me running wide. As Mcgeeza saw at Interlagos last night 😀

Does that not unsettle the back end when trail braking?
Basically yes, if you're going to fast and trail-braking with rear brake balance it's the rear tyres that will lose traction, therefore inducing oversteer.

It is possible to use that to your advantage, a bit of rear slip will help rotate the car faster but the style's not for everyone. Of course this is all true in the reverse for front balance -some like a more stable and predictable car.

How in the fuck do you change camera views in the replays with the wheel?

Having a go at the FIA online champ test 2 thing and it's pretty good. I like the longer format. 10 lap races seem to suit my steady consistent pace.

Alsace is up tomorrow which I like. It's a windy course which at my rank means that over 50% of players consistently overdo it in the bends

Just tried it in chase mode, it's ridiculous how much easier it makes it. It feels like you're driving about 40mph. Wish there was a few different server settings on the dailies so you could be on an even footing with people if you want to play it more sim.

@Decks I really struggle with it personally, can't ever seem to find any decent pace using it and always drive much faster with the bumper view.

Agreed, I can't believe someone can drive faster in chase view. I'm all over the place if I try it.

They must have tweaked the safety system for yesterdays oval daily. I bump drafted one guy for the whole 10 laps. Safety rating increase and a clean race somehow. I think they must be letting small bumps go. For the first time ever I now have an S rating.

Also, had a fantastic 10 lap race around Dragons Tail, until I screwed up after 7 laps, so annoying.

After two years I finally got around to installing the conical rubber brake mod on my pedals. After a couple of races getting used to it my braking has improved loads. Before I was constantly getting passed in heavy braking zones. I can now just slam my foot down and have much better control, wish I had done it sooner.

    Good race the GR.3
at dragons tail too, managed 2nd from 9th qualify time.

We should replicate daily long race with pit stops @mcgeeza 😀

Brake mod is great isn't it 😀

I was thinking about fitting a load cell upgrade but I'm not going to bother now. Made a huge difference on that flat out braking zone down the hill at Dragons Tail. I'm going round that in 3rd now faster and smoother. Knocked about half a second off my PB.

Did the daily on reverse Kyoto in the RCZ and qualified dead last, easily 2 seconds slower than the rest.

Not sure where everyone is getting their pace, I try my best to be smooth with cornering and acceleration but still lose traction regardless.

Same here qualified 2:15 but got a 2:12 in the race. GT4 race at Interlagos was much more fun😀

It’s worth saving replays and viewing the faster drivers, it’ll probably be quite apparent where they are managing to carry more speed through corners/chicanes etc. and might highlight some better driving lines. I think it was Kyoto the other day where I realised in 2 corners I was a gear lower than the fastest drivers, I adapted my line to use the higher gear and decreased my best lap by a full second.

Yeah good advice, I would have spent some time trying to improve but I hated the car and was happy to move on.

Had a bad race on Interlagos. I'm never going to get my Safety Rating up unless I make a point of not racing and just cruise around avoiding people. As soon as someone shunts me off the track I lose focus and am out for revenge. Once you're down in SR B - E this happens a lot! It's a never ending cycle.

That RCZ car was a bit rubbish wasn't it? I qualified initially with a 2:14 which I knew was rubbish and started at the back for the first race. I then improved to a 2:12 and thought "that should move me up the grid a bit" and I was still dead last apart from the one guy who hadn't even set a time.

The small toyota race on BB was great - I qualified 4th and finished 3rd, didn't get bumped once. Traction control to zero is what won (3rded) it.

MT all the way. I don't know about others, but for you it's important to have the sound up high enough (and the music quiet enough) that you can hear the engine note, so you know when to change.

And MT is great, have no idea how people can do it on the pad though. It's utterly impossible for my sausage fingers.

I have the music on for this track, which is clearly included to mock our driving abilities.

Yep. Always set Traction Control to zero for the Rally and Ovals or you've got no chance.

Surprised there hasn't been at least one Rally race in the Daily yet. Or have I missed it?

Safety rating might take a hammering though.

I caved and bought this last night. Now just have to wait for it to finish downloading.

Did have a quick go in arcade mode in the Focus, dear god the driving is good fun in this. Also moving the controller to steer is really well done and precise, at least in my one race of trying it.

A quick question though did they leave telemetry in, I know they had that option in the numbered PS3 versions of GT.
