I think I prefer when it when it's reversed.

Had one good race and finished 4th but my second was full of wankers, after the 7th or 8th shunt the gloves came off and I went out of my way to fuck up their race.

Is there an in-game explanation for why the Chaparelle lazer-car's engine dies after 25 miles, and speed drops down to a 50mph max?

Whats with all the headlight flashing? Is it just people saying "I'm here", or GTFOOTW?

I tend to do it by accident with my hamfists pressing too hard on the left stick. I assume it's similar for other pad users?

Although there's definitely some GTFO going on

Answer: because it's battery powered and they deplete.

Not sure how people are doing Brands Hatch Indy under a minute in that electric BMW. Best I can manage is just under 1 minute 2 and the thing is on 2 wheels most of the way round!

I got it down to 1:01.1 but yeah. Key is smooth and steady in, power out early. Oh and barely being on the track

Typically when It got down to qualifying my Mrs wanted a conversation about her day... 12th and half of my laps eating gravel.

Tried the Mt panorama race tonight, what a disaster. I guess since there are points at stake, people will do anything to get a place. Ramming at corners, smashing you into the wall after they get a crap corner exit and you pass them. Never again.

The SR rating is definitely broken, all an S rating means is youíve managed to have a few clean races in a row, too easy to achieve and too easy to maintain. I think racing was better coming up through A as the cleanest racers moved up first but now the masses are joining. The longer races make it much easier to increase your SR because even a bad driver just needs to find a gap on the track to get green sectors.

The quality in the Championship races is a lot lower although funnily enough I had a much better race around Mt Panorama than Maggiore wherer the standard was very poor with intentional ramming. The other thing that doesnít help is the ghosting at higher ratings, I actually had some slight contact coming down the long back straight at Mt Panorama, it was my fault as I cut the bend more than I intended, the other car was fine but I spun off slid uncontrollably down the grass for quite a distance and took out another car, why didnít it ghost me? I also think due to that incident I should have had red SR by default at the end but instead by the time the race ended It was blue.

I'm still having largely clean races in A and B. I haven't tried the championships yet though.

Perhaps itís the combination with the DR rating too, if I could get it to B it might help but just when Iím nearly there I have a bad race and Iím back to half way again.

I have a D/S rating at the moment. Iím struggling to go up the DR rating because a) Iím clearly not good enough and b) I donít have the time to put any decent quality laps in after learning the car and track combo. So I usually start at the back and end up climbing 3 or 4 places. IMO this should give me an increase in DR because I am at least improving on my grid position. But apparently not. So I guess it only goes up if you finish in the top three?

Oh well. Iím still enjoying the racing regardless.

I'd advise trying to drop your rating to A. I was D/S for a few races and it was just putting me in with A and S class races. D/A seems to put you on with other D and C racers.

Apologies to the random Internet guy I purposefully ploughed into to bring my rating back down to A.

Also the rotation resetting on the wheel is really fucking annoying. Have they said they're going to fix it?

@McGeeza I dont think the rating is predicated solely on podium positions, but on finishing in a an expected spot. Someone said that in iracing your door number is your expected finish slot, now based on my GT:S experience i dont think it's quite the same but does seem to involve some predicted spot as well as clean overtakes.

the rating system does seem too heavily weighted towards Sr than DR in matchmaking currently in general - as evidenced by S safety rating being an actual shitshow compared to a and b. - i.e those that grind in isolation to SR S then try to race unsurprisingly then fuck up and get demoted again because they still can't actually race cleanly. whereas those in the middle ground of a/b may make some judgement errors but they are usually minor and isolated - anecdotally.

What race camera do you lot use? I got penalised last night in a couple of races because the front of the (invisible) car is further ahead than the bumper cam suggests.

I switched from chase to bonnet (^the above is why I used bonnet over bumper) cam recently and I've found myself involved in more collisions. The increased FOV of chase is the best bet for the first lap or so, just until everyone settles.

I completed the last two cup races at dr-C sr-C and there was quite a lot of contact.

I qualified 2nd at Bathurst and 5th at Magiore but on the first lap at each dropped down to around 10th due to over eagerness, clumsiness. I don't think there was any intentional bumping going on. I didn't think I was at fault at the time but after looking at the replays I'm not sure if I should be accepting some responsibilty. I stuck all the collisions together with multiple angles.

Crash, bang, wallop, what a video. I got a 10sec penalty for crash 3, which seemed a little harsh.

I normally drive solely in cockpit view but bumper feels way easier in this. Bumping into people is definitely a problem though.

    Re chase cam

Yeah I can understand that, particularly for wheel users, I'm on pad. It took me a bit of getting used to but I'm pretty comfortable with it now after adjusting the chase cam settings. I did not get on with it at all with the default rigid chase cam.
