    Is there a date for the paid demo, ahem, GT Sport, release, or is it to be revealed at this event?

    I think we'll all take pleasure from playing that, a warm up for the launch of the PS6 a week later. Epiphany Digital.

    Brilliant. Hopefully they'll show the PSVR version too.

    Looks great.

    I'll play that with my Official Gran Turismo Playstation whee... Oh wait.

    Yeah, that still annoys me.

    @UncleLou I bought the Thrustmaster T300. I love it.

    Yeah, I am sure I'd love it as well, but I have a fully functional USB wheel that works with basically every racing game under the sun.

    As long as it's not on the PS4.

    I am not buying a new racing wheel every gen, that's just not on.

    I hope they've remembered to include that whacking-a-water-butt-with-a-broom sound effect for collisions.

    After the disappointment of GT5, I missed 6 altogether and am watching GT Sport with a degree of skepticism - more so after EG's reporting earlier.

    The above video looks decent, but nothing revelatory and nothing we haven't already seen in Project Cars or DriveClub. So, I think I'll be staying firmly on the fence and see how well GT Sport reviews, although I will be slightly swayed if all of the classic GT tracks are included (Trial Mountain, Grand Valley etc) as I love those tracks....

    Edit: And it's up for pre-order on the PS Store. Ł50 though!?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXxcjCNkHCU A livestream event, they're actually racing here and you can hear the vacuum cleaners for yourself too. Seems to definitely lean further towards motorsports with the inclusion of a flag system.

    Fucking hell they really haven't changed the Dyson engines and placeholder tyre screeching have they. Racing couldn't get any more boring with GT and I say that as a huge advocate of the first 4.

    I don't think I could actually play a driving game that sounds that bad anymore.

    Wow, just watched the stream...

    ... of shit. Can't believe they haven't taken the very, very, very long overdue chance, with this new generation, to fix the many incredibly old fashioned elements that lame in GT3. Let alone GT 4. Let alone GT 5, blah.

    Said they'd overhaul the sound from 4 to 5, I can remember Kaz with recording equipment stuck behind a car and in the tailpipes. Sounded no different that those that came before it. They were going to patch in realistic sounding engines to 6. Sounded no different. Anyone watch the live stream? They've just stagnated for a decade whilst their competition has (pun intended) lapped them several times.

    @the_milkybar_kid

    I watched some of the live feed, I was impressed with how clean most of the racing was. PD allegedly employed a sound guy from Forza a few years ago after the release of GT6 iirc.

    It sound amazing though. 130 cars and no standard cars is an improvement but not sure I'm a fan of these concept cars. They kept introducing them in GT6.

    In fairness it got pretty crazy sounding in GT5. I rammed a Skyline (what else) into the back of another one at 140mph and it had all the visceral impact of two wheelie bins knocking together.

    That kind of thing, they may as well use Mario Kart sound effects such is the disconnect from real life.

    Wow a modern racing game that sounds worse than Assetto Corsa did in early beta.

    I was looking forward to this but every other series has surpassed GT in one way or another these days. GT seems to be more about people who like looking at the outside of cars rather than being in them and driving them.

    Why do they still not have any damage?

    I've been thinking the same. Even the physics of crashing into the barrier is pretty much the same as before.

    Thought this might win me over to jump to current gen, but may as well stick to GT6 (which has more content anyways).

    Not feeling the ball fizz with this one. Three years, and they offer an undercooked version of GT with a fraction of the cars and content, a kind of crappy sounding career, and the same old flaws. At full price.

    I'm sure it'll be a fine game, but I'll wait for GT7.

    I have a feeling that GT7 will be going down the same route as GT Prologue vs GT5. Pretty much identical bells/whistles, just more content.

    If they want to release it within the PS4's prime, I can't imagine they'll have much time to improve audiovisuals and physics (damage in particular) as they will have to focus on creating all that extra content.

    Didn't this happen before i.e. they spent way too much time on getting as many cars as possible into the game, rather than making the game itself better.

    But is the game better though? The stream wasn't at all convincing me in that regard.

    Watching the stream was interesting, if they'd said this was a November '17 release I would have thought fine, it coming out this year? Er, that needs a lot of work.

    Brands looked nice though.
