Higher than 89? You think higher than 89?

    Ooh, good game. Good game.

Growing up, The Generation Game was never to be missed.

No-one did catchphrases like Sir Brucie. RIP

I was also pleased that he never turned out to be a peado like every other famous entertainer in the 60s and 70s.

I didn't mind the chap at all.
Yeah, my mum was the same.

I was impressed at his ability to ad lib and riff off the audience. Even on something like Strictly.
I found the singing and tap dancing got a bit cringeworthy towards the end though.
I'm with your ma and pa, but still at least he can join all his old contemporaries.

Great age and I would assume a pretty bloody good life.

Now that he can't fight back, I'm anticipating some fame seekers to claim he had felt them up the wrong way as a youngster. And who knows, maybe some real claims too, but in which case I do have to ask why not sooner.

Speaking of past stars I'm listening to Hurt by Johnny Cash. Pure brilliance and if you don't tear up, you are a better man than me.

There's a great Sky Arts Song By Song show looking at his cover of Hurt, particularly interesting looking at the video.

    But RIP Brucie.

Linking back to Glen Campbell, I always though Cash's cover of Witchita Lineman on the B side of the single was the definitive version for me. Dunno if it's on the album also.

Clearly this calls to a state funeral to bring our divided country together.

Agreed, Campbell did the definitive version of one of my fave ever songs. Ray Charles came close though too.

Brucie was a real showman. I'll always remember his appearance on Have I Got News for You.

    RIP

I've watched the making of quite a few times as well. I remember them saying he had a Bodyguard on set with him as he was prone to random acts of violence lol.

There's actually a bloke in my department that laughs like him. It's quite surreal.
