Because it really feels weird to me to have a separate thread for every celeb that dies. Especially if they weren't super duper famous or had been out of the spotlight for a good long while.

On that note, George Kennedy of The Naked Gun/Police Squad fame has passed away, aged 91. I can only hope to live that long.

I just posted this to Prog Rock thread. Didn't realise we had a new 'death' thread.

I think a general thread is fine for a certain calibre of celeb.

The likes of Bowie deserve our full respect of a full thread IMHO.

Probably a lot of our parents are around this age too which adds to the sadness. Also the fucking grim reaper's apprentice turns up and makes it extra shit.

Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer dead, self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35787187

Nobuo Uematsu and Koji Kondo cited ELP as an influence, so worth considering that without his influence some pretty big games might have sounded a bit different.

Tends to be the other way around. How many times you seen a tall old person? Anyone over 6'5" shouldn't be made to put money into their pensions.

Seriously what is with this year? I'm not a fan of them all by any means but they seem to be dropping like flies.
