    They're only realising Trump cares about one thing. Himself. He'll say whatever it takes to defend himself, even if it goes against the party line or fucks someone else over. Happened too many times already. People's hopes that Trump's cabinet would reign him in haven't happened, he's unhinged. But then, most Republican's won't go against him for fear of any backlash from his supporters and lose future votes so they're stuck between a rock and a hard place having to swallow their pride when having to defend Trump. It's pretty funny.

    Enough of his tweets have been reposted on here - maybe Eurogamer could be admissible evidence?

    @Tuffty

    If senior Republicans are implicated in the Russia stuff, they may also be worried about what Trump will say if they turn against him.

    Having said that, I suspect Trump may genuinely not have known about any active collusion with Russia. It was those around him and he really was their useful idiot. Only they under-estimated how much of an idiot he actually is.

    I was involved in a conspiracy then I can't think of a bigger liability than Trump also being knowingly involved.

    Pretty much the reason why I don't expect Trump to be the pawn of any greater, more intelligent evil.

    Nobody is desperate or stupid enough to make Trump part of their creation of a coherent master plan.

    At most, Putin has enabled Trump to create chaos, which the guy excels at.

    Well-done steak and ketchup is his favourite dish. There's your grounds for impeachment.

    Intellectually confused, wandering and myopic, emotionally needy and narcissistic, culturally vacuous, and eats kids food.

    He is a child. A politics podcast had a Yank on, who is a little over-zealous I'll admit, talking about the issue for him is not the politics, but the psychology of a stupid, childish, vain man.

    NY TIMES

    I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job, Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. I faced great pressure because of Russia. Thats taken off.

    Mr. Trump added, Im not under investigation.

    I think the goose is cooked.

    People say Lavrov was being sarcastic. I don't think he was, his eyes widened and he had the reaction of most people - he can't be that stupid.

    His Twitter is utter madness.

    His tweets are child like.

    "Getting ready for my big foreign trip. Will be strongly protecting American interests - that's what I like to do!"

    There's 100% going to be a story released while he's on his flight to create a complete shit storm for him to deal with, it's great.

    @ViperDrive

    Lavrov was definitely being agressively sarcastic. Comey was fired the day before, so he knew all about it.

    There was nothing in that to suggest he was being sarcastic, even down to the roll of the eyes and shake of his head.

    What was he being sarcastic about? The reporter didn't ask if he knew, they asked what he thought of it.

    He's really not helping himself by constantly tweeting and going on the defensive about it. All it's doing is keeping the story in the news, when ideally it would be best if people ignored it.
