I'm sure they did, it makes too much sense. Still means we have to wait five months though :(

The wait is killing me as well. When it comes out, it will have been 5 years since the release of the last ME game, barring any further delays *knock on wood*

A remaster of the trilogy would also be a nice N7 day gift to tide us over until next spring...

According to some insiders, EA apparently have no interest in remasters. I certainly wouldn't complain if they suddenly developed an interest, but if not I'll take the series playable on XBO back compat.

Will we get to 'romance' the guy sitting at his desk with the digital pen?

@SomaticSense "Is that a Quartet Kapture Digital Pen in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

Looks like Bioware might have finally nailed facial animation. The asari's smile is the first one that didn't belong right in the uncanny valley.

My interest-o-meter is currently set to 'wait-and-see'.

I'd prefer to see this hew back towards slow-burning intrepid space exploration and role-playing. The original trilogy progressively became more about explosive blockbuster action, imo to its detriment.

Hmm, do we know the date?

Is this people from the past of the stories we know who have spent hundreds of years in the freezer to get there or is this post-Mass Effect's story timeline people who got warped out there after the events?

I fear the latter, I'd be way more into the former (maybe ME1 timeline for the launch date, all very hush hush - late enough that humans are a threat, early enough for pre-Reaper so no having to references the ME unravelling of the world-building over the trilogy).

Yeah, I've gone from cautious to FEED IT DIRECTLY INTO MY BRAIN!

Seeing what Battlefront and Battlefield 1 have done with Frostbite has my chomping at the bit to see what Mass Effect can do.

I believe the 'viral' trailer implied they launched pre ME1 and so, even with any crying sleep in mind, they will be unaware of the shit ending of me3

This could be really great. I even enjoyed Mass Effect: Revelation so I clearly have a soft spot for the pre-GodKing era of humanity in the Mass Effect world. Hopefully the writers will remember that if they do line up that way and make it a point of contention that humans are still the rebellious upstarts who have not yet really proven anything to the galactic community (and members who have back-story reasons for being abort this crazy mission of exploration).

Better than most sci-fi movie trailers.

Before this trailer I was meh. Now I'm "GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!"

Love the story that it's hinting at.

    ^ This.

I may even suffer through HDMI 1.4 and play this at 4K 30Hz...

And can we please stop with the ME1 comparisons? ME1 trailers looked generic as well (ugh, space zombies?).

Trailers or not, ME1 had an impressive grand sci-fi story. ME3 made it a cartoonish dudebro action movie, and it doesn't look like Andromeda is going to fix that.

I agree with your assessment of ME1 &3, but how would we know *right now* whether Andromeda falls here or there?

    @[maven]

Of course I don't know the game yet, I may be wrong, but the vibe I get from the videos is clearly a ME3 one

ME3 was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it.

Trying to keep a bit more reserved for this new one, but it's likely to be more 3 than 1 tbh.
