US-only, you'll need a VPN or somesuch, otherwise it's up in the usual places.
Mr. Robot is a drama about a young programmer, Elliot, who suffers from a debilitating anti-social disorder and decides he can only connect to people by hacking them. Elliot finds himself in the intersection between a cybersecurity firm he works for, his hacking exploits at night, and the underworld hacking organization trying to recruit him to help bring down the 1 percent.
Anybody else checked out the pilot? It's surprisingly amazing. I thought it would turn into some cheesy hacker group Vs The man but it's so much more complex.

You won't regret it, it's very good. It has a dexter meets fight club vibe to it.
Yeah, this was excellent. Watch it.
That was great. Hate the fact that I have to wait a while for episode 2.
A must see

Not that I didn't acquire it by alternate means (it's well worth it), you can watch the pilot on Twitch where it debuted.
My recommendation is to NOT WATCH THIS until July.
The wait for episode 2 will be torturous.
Just watched it, it's really good, it's got a definite fight club feel, though without any of the violence, some touches of Breaking Bad in the camera-work and palette of the show.
Does it have the shaky cam of Breaking Bad too?
Never noted any Shaky Cam in Breaking Bad. But no, it has none, it opts for long slow passes, holding focus on things that are not the center of attention and a few other tricks that I assume are an attempt to show the protagonists social awkwardness.

Oh Christ, the camera was being held by hand then. It was wobbling around and made me want to vomit. Not all the time but it got annoying.
Right so I just started watching this and it seems quite good but for someone who has problems with social anxiety and talking to people he sure does a lot of talking.
/back to watching
This is just Dexter! He even keeps those discs just like blood slides. Wow.
It is indeed very Dexteresque. As if Dexter had a realistic child with The Matrix.
Between this and Killjoys my summer watching is sorted. Thank gods since True Detective looks like a dud.

USA renews Christian Slater's Mr. Robot before it premieres

Christian Slater’s curse has been lifted! USA Network today announced a second season pickup of the actor’s upcoming drama series Mr. Robot, snapping Slater’s streak of appearing in largely single-season shows.
USA has taken a very rare step for a basic cable network by committing to another year before the series has officially premiered. But USA got some hint of Mr. Robot’s appeal after it generated 2.6 million views via the show’s preview screenings on digital platforms.
“We knew from the moment we read Sam Esmail’s provocative script, and witnessed the brilliant performances of Rami Malek and Christian Slater, that Mr. Robot is a stand-out series that is unlike anything currently on television,” said USA Network President Chris McCumber. “The overwhelmingly positive fan reactions to the pilot and the broad sampling of it, reaffirms our confidence in the series, and we’re excited to see where this timely drama will take us for season two.”
Mr. Robot has its regular on-air premiere tonight on USA. The second season will contain a minium of 10 episodes and will debut next year.
This news has me slightly worried.
Will it turn into X-Files? Monster of the week with the occasional dip into the (increasingly implausible) overarching plot.
Still, best thing on TV I've seen in a looong while.
Episode 02 is OUT. Start your engines!
Love the episode names btw.
Getting a distinct impression of Mr. Robot being the Elliot's 'Tyler Durden' but the writers have to know that so ...
Anyway, so far so good

Holy shit, the first episode was good. This episode was holy shit balls amazing! Moar!
Agreed. Best thing on TV since firefly.
Watched the latest episode.
Loving it, love that it shows you a trope or a stereotype and then subverts it. The friendly drug dealer, the cheating boyfriend, the psycho corporate guy, they could easily be two-dimensional but it tweaks them. The drug dealer wants a family life, the boyfriend tells all, the psycho cares for his wife and child; it doesn't change your opinion of them greatly, but it stops you assuming you know their character arc.
Haven't seen it yet so could you just rate it as compared to the first two?
This is brilliant.
's ok, nothing more
I think the show-runners have shown in the latest episode that they can play up to the viewers assumptions about characters and then subvert the assumed narrative to throw the viewer off balance.
Of course it could be as we assume but it might be a double bluff.
Still, it's a fun show to watch as it's constantly throwing clues to the puzzle at you, which lets the viewer feel smart when they guess what's happening and are proven right
