Is it weird to be happier that this was actually made at all? After what seems like endless super hero movies (a lot that I love) as a replacement for science fiction on film and with the originals difficult history - it's amazing to see something like this funded, advertised and in every cinema.

I simply refuse to believe this will be any good. Remember when Batman bs Superman had lots of great buzz before the reviews dropped.

So it turns out I will be going to an Imax preview of this, my girlfriend seems to have booked tickets at some point. How unexpected.

These are actual critic responses. The Batman vs Superman things were from "fans"

One more thing: #BladeRunner2049 is not the action-thriller-buddy-cop-sci-fi you were worried it might have been. It's ponderous, powerful.

I'm not watching the trailers as they just ruin it nowadays. I've got 2 of the short films they've released to watch so that should warm me up. Local cinema is also showing Final Cut and I've never seen it on the big screen.

Pissing my kecks with excitement for this. Reviews sound like HARRISON SCORED

Slightly more mixed reviews coming in now.

Some saying the robotic wisecracking dog isn't that funny and that the dance scene makes no sense.

Reminds me, I've not seen The Final Cut. Hmm.

Apparently people aren't getting what the dog signifies. Villeneuve has been quoted as saying Rex201 is there to illustrate Gosling's humanity ebbing away. The jokes have all got double meanings so it doesn't matter that they're not funny.

At least they got someone well liked with Kevin hart to voice the dog. The dance scene is weird though. Emma Stone just popping up out of nowhere then her and Ryan just jazz handing there way through a gun fight.

That makes more sense, especially when it dunks on Ford in the climatic Spaceball grand final.

I could actually feel the jizz Peter Bradshaw released while writing the guardian review.

One of the most spectacular, provocative, profound and spiritually staggering blockbusters of our time
    I'm soaked right through.

Denis Villeneuve is quickly becoming my favourite director. Doesn't seem like this'll change that.

Arrival was a bit bland and safe for me but it looked the bollocks.

    This looks stunning.

You guys watched the 3 short films? They're pretty decent. 3rd one gives good Animatrix vibes.

I'm so happy that this has turned out well. I was confident, given the team behind it.

Roll on Friday! I wish I had booked into the IMAX now, but it was only available in IMAX 3D and I dont want to see it in 3D. I thought 3D was dead already?

Yeah, bit gutted I have to see it in 3d. But I'll probably see it multiple times if its as good as it sounds.

Any completely spoiler free reviews? I daren't even go to them just in case... I find the photos they use can some times be spoilery.
