    @THFourteen

    You know I've never played a diablo game. I'd love a D3 port.

    Sadly D3 is online all the time

    D2 would work though. Never gonna happen unless homebrew...

    @THFourteen

    Is it? Yeah that wouldn't work then. I'll probably play it some day on PS4. Just another of those games I've always bypassed but wouldn't mind playing.

    Yes it's out in a few days and I've not heard a peep about the Switch version, on either a technical level or otherwise.

    I'm considering selling my copy of Mario Odyssey to fund Skyrim as I've finished the main story and I've been left with a distinct feeling of "is that it?" I mean, I could go back and collect more moons, if there's any point, but I was expecting more levels, bigger levels, and more depth generally.

    I think maybe I'm just getting a bit old for games that simply involve jumping around. At least there's hours and hours of depth to Skyrim, especially with the DLC, but I've still no solid idea of what to expect from Skyrim on Switch, apart from the brief Gamescom hands-on, which may or may not represent the final version of the game.

    @THFourteen Diablo 3 on consoles has always had offline play. Only the PC version requires a constant connection.

    But I can't see Blizzard making anymore D3 ports at this point, the team must be working on D4.

    I know the PC version was because of item spoofing and the ill-fated auction house they launched with, but I'm fairly sure I played the PS4 version of Diablo 3 in an apartment with no Internet a few years back. I think. Certainly it wouldn't have been stable enough to be always on.

    There's certainly hours and hours of running from A to B doing shitty quests, that's for sure. :)

    I don't see any big price drops until after xmas. There's a lot of money to be made given the boatloads of Switches that should be shifted this xmas.

    I'm now convinced it's a viable platform, maybe not shifting ps4 or Wii numbers but I think it's going to be ok and worth owning over the long term. Hardly a day goes by without new indie games being announced. Today's Switch indie game is The End Is Nigh, coming in December.
    I'm hoping Lego City Undercover gets a drop at some point, be a nice game to play over the christmas period.

    I cancelled my Xenoblade pre-order - decided to save some money..... and brought Yukusa 0 for £17 and err.. Rocket league... I'm a fucking idiot.

    Ill probably put any christmas money towards Xenoblade. If i haven't caved by then.

    Ah i see. I never played Diablo 3 on console. I mean who in their right minds would play without a keyboard and mouse.

    Except on a Switch on a train of course.

    Joking aside, this was totally my view on it at first. But... holy hell, and fuck me sideways, but it really REALLY works on conslols. Sure some of the inventory management is torture, but the moment to moment gameplay is actually -- whisper it -- more satisfying with a controller. :-/

    More satisfying than pressing Shift and watching the billions fly on screen? What is this travesty?

    So Rocket League allows you to create an in-game party effortlessly, at any point, within the game. If Nintendo and Psyonix can do it, why can't EA?

    Edit - Just had my first match, in portable mode, on the DFH Stadium. Lovely stuff. Very impressed. Obviously the resolution isn't quite 720p, but it looks damn good and is very fluid. Looking forward to playing online with some of you folk soon!

    I might do a season mode to unlock some of the decals and such. There's a lot to unlock. I've noticed a number of cars are missing from the roster though! I guess this was to ensure the game could be released this side of Christmas.

    Psyonix are generally great with updates, though. I imagine the Switch will have parity eventually!

    Common sense (and my wife... More my wife to be honest) have got the better of me and my shopping list is now down to Xenoblade, but i'm going to wait for reviews. Doubt it will be anything but amazing, but want to be sure. Skyrim is still tempting, but it's expensive for a game I played for over 200 hours already.

    Damn common sense.

    @BigOrkWaaagh I did. I got to name it and everything. You just can't use the capture button. You have to wait until the game is over.

    Its definitely not a solid 60fps and it's more noticeable in handheld mode on particular maps. Star Base is very poorly optimised, whereas the more traditional stadiums are fine. From the looks of it the geometry hasn't been altered on any of the maps at all.

    Hopefully they continue to work on performance. A few maps do suffer in portable mode. Docked mode I have no complaints, though.
