The project octopath demo is brilliant.  Go check it out.  Really scratches that retro rpg itch.

I bought my pro controller for Splatoon. I found my aim was completely off with the joy cons and I couldn’t get used to motion control.

    Not essential but quite nice.
Good point, Splatoon is much better with the pro.

I went a bit mental and bought everything other than a Nintendo tattoo! Extra joycons, dock and pro controller. I love the damn thing I do!

@Addy_B Took the plunge on Flame In The Flood, basically because I loved it on PS4 but never had the time to play it. Good news: it's an excellent port. Bar a bit of pop-in here and there, it looks lovely. It's a great match for the Switch.

Is Mario Kart properly playable with two players, Joy Cons, shared Switch screen?

Going abroad for a longish time, and was wondering if I should get that to play with the kids.

Yeah, it's just big enough to be feasible. It's not the best way to play but it works.

I just popped in here to see if anyone had played this. The video on the eshop looks like it's running at 20fps. It might just be the video though. It does look interesting. Another to add to the Watch List I think.

    @Huggybear

Spent 2 weeks I Cyprus playing this in the mornings before breakfast. Perfectly playable even for me with ailing eyesight!

Do invest in a more adequate stand like the Hori one. I bought one and it’s aces compared to that flimsy stand on the switch.

Anyone pick up The Flame In The Flood? Quite interested in that one.

Edit: Bugger should have scrolled up.

    Today I got my haircut.

I played the Switch in tabletop mode while I had the Joy Cons under the cover. It was glorious.

Looked like I was furiously masturbating, but I don't care.

@Huggybear just played it in town with my daughter. Thwump ruins was a bit tricky to see in a couple of places (dark), but everywhere else was fine. It was fun, which is the main thing.

I wanted a haircut, not a prison sentence.

Gameplay looks incredibly low-res in that video.

I'm sold. I think Doom, Mario and Xenoblade will keep me busy in the run up to Christmas. It's been years since I've played any Doom, so even at low-Res it'll be an upgrade to me!

FIFA is good fun as a single player portable game. Don't buy it if portability isn't important to you.

Fire Emblem Warriors is out on Friday. Anyone getting it?

Fire Emblem Warriors is this Friday? How could I forget that, I'm all about the Warriors games! Not so much the spin-offs any more as they churn them out too quickly, but I loved Hyrule Warriors enough to buy it on both Wii U and 3DS so I'm all for another one with that combined Warriors and Nintendo charm :)

Thanks for the reminder rice_sandwich, I would've missed that!

I've found a bit more time to get back to PC gaming recently, so i think for me the Switch will end up being games i really want to play on the go, or exclusives like Zelda, Rabbids, Xenoblade etc.

I just don't think i could cope with playing Wolfenstein on a handheld or at 720p30fps when i could be playing at 1440p90fps.

Golf story and stardew valley seem like the perfect portable games.

I might get Warriors. I have all the FE amiibo anyway, so there's that.

I just don't want to start anything new until Odyssey. :)

It's a great game. It just ...unapologetically awesome. Big, bold, and a lot of fun.

Absolutely... but i've never once felt like playing SDV on the telly.

Xenoblade however i guess i will play on the telly now and then, like Zelda!
