    :D

    How long do you get from one charge? If it's about 2 hours then I can probably do without a powerbank....

    Depends on the game, with a particularly taxing one dropping it under two hours I've heard. My commute isn't all that long, so it's just a quarter of an hour here or there and the occasional geeking out over a lunch break.

    I can also charge it from my work machine, even in the worst case. Two other dudes in my office have Switches, with a third on the brink, so I'm actually getting more multiplayer action out of the thing than all of my other gaming platforms combined. Local multi FTMFW, etc. etc.

    I have about an hour and a half at a time, so probably will be OK. Suck it and see I guess. I have a battery pack with me most of the time anyway, it's just not got a great capacity or output (it was about Ł7 from Ikea!)

    This golf story, I wish there was a way to cancel/restart the activity you're in when it's obvious you're going to fail it. It's starting to get pretty irritating.

    So instead of sending my joycon off as it's desyncing a lot I checked youtube for a fix. Above is a link to a method that requires no voiding warranty to fix yourself.

    When I followed the guide it turns out my console reckons I have 5 controllers paired. I only have 3 total including the joycons so perhaps that is part of the problem?

    I'm just about to see if it's fixed, only two controllers are paired now so maybe it will behave itself.

    I totally forgot my mate brought his switch joycons round once so there's the five.

    Doh!

    I don't think it's fixed my joycons either, second time it's holding up but I'm not sure how much essentially a power cycle is going to fix what is widely accepted as a hardware fault.

    @Dougs That battery pack is unlikely to touch the sides tbh.

    Wulverblade

    Should be released today. A beat em up centred around the Roman invasion of Britain, where you are part of a tribe resisting them. It's a game that bleeds with the passion of its creative director, beautiful art work, music, production value as well as having lots of historical education stuff in it. Really nice game, but it does have a few niggling flaws that stop perfection. Still recommended though.

    That is an awful lot of flaws you list (and some pretty crucial ones at that) to recommend it bud.

    I'd say it's more of a hint to the devs as what to fix. The only major problems are the difficulty and your characters nimbleness. Still enjoyed playing it, and that's what's most important.

    I have noticed your reviews tend to be a bit on the overly positive side...

    God, that does look awful. I don't want to be an ass, but is the positivity to do with wanting to maintain a steady stream of games to review? Or did you just like the game even though it looks crap? I don't even know why I'm asking really because I doubt you'd want to say if it was the first, and if it's the second that's OK too, I've had plenty of games like that. But I've typed it all out now so whatever.

    Good review Brigadier, first time I've watched, will subscribe. I've a soft spot for that historical and geographical territory so I'm very tempted. I'm not afraid of difficulty but getting punted back to the halfway checkpoint after boss fight failure seems very very harsh. Might still get it, my Mrs would love it too.

    As an aside, do you still have to sign up to a Nintendo agreement to post Switch YouTube vids?

    Has a date been set for The Champion's Ballad DLC for BOTW yet?

    I needs it.

    So Mario Odyssey has been given a 10 from Edge, and it got me thinking. There's a lot of ruddy good games on Switch. In fact, this might be the best first 6 months software lineup for any console I've ever owned.

    (OK, 7 months)

    First time I've had to defend my integrity.

    I've given plenty of reviews to crap games, boring games, good games and great games. I'm generally a positive person and don't instantly dismiss something as being bad if it's not the greatest game ever. I'm not sure what looks crap about Wulverblade though. I like it a lot. Just wish it was easier.

    @Ghibli
    Thanks! Nah, non-Nintendo games are fine, and with swift editing you can get around the Nintendo agreement to monetise Nintendo's first party releases. Although review copies are out of the window. (not as though I'd ever be eligible for one in the first place)

    @DangerousDave_87

    I've read a few Yono reviews from minor sites. It seems to be a charming, fairly straight forward exploration and puzzle based game with collectibles. Nothing outstanding, basically a classic 7/10 game that's decent enough. About 3 to 5 hours in length. I'll probably get it once I complete a few more games. I'm delighted to see more indie games come to the eshop.
