It really annoys me when my work colleague calls it a 'Wii Switch'.

That's my Switch set up and ready to go. Unfortunately no games (have Zelda on back order...could download, but it's a tenner more!).

Why didn't they bundle that 1 2 Switch? Or at least have some demos on the e-Store? I thought it was a bit rough for the launch line up to be abused, given launch line ups are generally pants...but the top 10 on the Nintendo e-store only has 4 games...

You can download snipperclips demo and (with a bit of fucking about) the jap puyo-puyo demo. I'd recommend Fast Racing RMX as a buy to get you started.

@beastmaster I don't suppose you have a Wii (U) LAN adapter you can compare against? I'd really like to know whether it's worth upgrading. Given the dismal 5ghz 802.11n performance downloading from eshop, I suspect the switch can't download at over 100Mbps even when a gigabit network adapter is connected.

I'm going to order a well-reviewed USB 3 one and compare, it'll take over a week to arrive though.

    @neptunium

Unfortunately, I don't. I just hope to get a better, much stable connection.

Right, I'm ordering one. I'm far too impatient to wait until Christmas.

What's the best co-op game to get? Snipperclips? I'll need something to get the wife onside.

How's 1-2 Switch? Not heard anyone talking about it so I'm guessing it's pretty crap?

1 2 Switch is a mini-game collection. There is fun to be had, but at the current price point it's way too expensive. I'm not sure making it a pack-in would've been wise (it would've made people complain about having a game forced on them instead of having a cheaper console), but the current price is too high. I'm glad I bought it because I do think it's great fun, but there's no way it should ever have been a full price release.

Bomberman and Skylanders have co-op too, but Bomberman is still a bit pricey for what it is and Skylanders isn't for everyone. Snipperclips is definitely the co-op game I'd actually recommend to other people as it's great and not insanely overpriced :)

@Switch024 1 2 Switch is pretty dreadful, to be honest. It's a nice tech demo for the Joy-Cons, it's fun for a couple of hours with friends, but it feels very non Nintendo-y. It's unpolished, has awful cringeworthy intro videos, and you have to play through some of the worst games before it opens up the full set (I'd recommend, should you desperately want it, to play through the set of initial games yourself before playing it socially).

Snipperclips is great co op. You could also download the Puyo Puyo Tetris demo from the jpn store and have arguments during the Vs mode play.

Yeah Snipperclips is good fun. 1-2 Switch is hot garbage, even as a multiplayer based game it's terrible. Snipperclips should have been the pack-in.

Thanks guys. I'll stay clear of 1 2 Switch for now then, might take a look down the line if it drops in price.

How's the joy-con grip for playing Zelda? I would like the pro controller but not sure I can justify spending another 60.

@Switch024 It's fine, save the money. Mine only ever really gets played in portable mode though.

Absolutely fine for most people. I'm definitely not buying one, I've found the joycon pad thing lovely to use. Will get 2 more joycons for four player mariokart (and as a decent second pad) instead.

I'll go against the grain and say buy a pro controller. It's awesome. Not helpful but there you go.

I tend to use the Joy Con Grip for Zelda if I'm playing on TV as I prefer it. Nothing wrong with the Pro Controller of course, it's just I personally prefer the Joy Cons in the Grip. If I had used that before I'd bought the Pro Controller, I'm not sure I'd even have bothered with it (at launch at least).
