It's worth looking up how to identify where secret rooms generally are, there is a system to it. You'll still waste bombs, but not completely needlessly.

Also, chuck everything you can into the donation machine, but STOP at 999 as it resets. It's like a cash machine after 999, bomb it for pennies.

The real secret is, if you want, or have time to pump hundreds of hours in, just keep picking shit up and and seeing what it does, you'll soon learn what most of the items do and which to avoid. Or you can use
Platinum god although this will spoil a lot of stuff if you don't already know about it, it's excellent to have on your phone for quick reference. Theres so many secrets to the game that it'll take months and months to discover everything, and even then they'll still be stuff you never see, its one of the things that makes the game so fucking great.

I'm amazed by the depth of it all. Considering this started as a week project to kill some time it's basically evolved into arguably one of the best indie games to date and he must have made a nice tidy sum on this. Well deserved as well as Edmund comes across like a really sound level headed guy in interviews.

This along with meatboy are easily my favourite indie games.

I don't know how I just got through the run I did. So many stupid mistakes and terrible items throughout. Ah well, 4 win streak now. Think I'm up to 6 mom's heart kills, 5 to go I think then can work on the D6.

Yeah soy milk is shit unless you get something like chocolate milk, libra, inner eye or mutant spider after. I pretty much always leave it on the pedestal unless I'm feeling masochistic. It's such a dull item to play with, the knockback makes it unbearable to use.

I can imagine it's hilarious with sticky shot too.

Explosivo? Yeah especially as I believe the base daamge is unaffected by your tear damage, it does a set amount plus tear damage.

Kept managing to accidentally destroy rocks and open secret rooms last night until I noticed that apparently that's what Acid shot does. Thought it was just a damage up or something at first.

I actually enjoy a good soy milk run sometimes, it can be great if you get piercing shots or of course libra... I've it had like that combo twice in my 800 hours though on runs that i wasn't breaking.

Theres a major issue with the Switch version, when you're playing it in TV mode you can't move the map or see all of it. When you press the map button you can see less of of it than when you just have it in the corner! Needs sorting.

@addyb Minus button. You can move it around with the touchscreen in portable mode

Other little things are that holding the button reminds you what floor youre on. Also you can drop your held items, consumable items and trinket on the floor by holding zr for a few seconds.

Only cards / pills / runes, and trinkets. You can't drop the tick (which is the point).

So after 35 runs I've finally completed one hurrah! Swear I always get crap items!

Very addictive this game, not played Zelda for a few days cause of it.

Only had a couple of games last night due to catching up on some tv shows. I've still yet to finish a full run beyond mom which is a bit annoying but I'll get there. I can get to the last floor more often then not but silly mistakes let me down. I should really tackle more challenges as I've kind of not bothered since computer savvy. I see a lot still to be revealed. I assume just playing the main game unlocks more or are there set requirement's to reveal some?

Most things are unlocked by just playing the game and the challenges, some have other requirements like unlocking The Lost for example is pretty convoluted. Most you'll just get through playing though.

You'll need to play on hard if you want to unlock everything though.

So, Mom's Contact and Ipecac don't combine so well. Barely maintained my streak, up to 6 now!

@addyb if you've beaten Mom you have 2 more floors, right? So for the next 11 times you're able to beat the boss at the end of those you'll unlock something new. And perhaps you'll unlock something that will take you even beyond that point in the process...

I did remember skipping a floor on one run and I'm sure i went beyond the other 2. I went into a room which was hell on earth and had to flick switches whilst trying to avoid a shed load of bloody huge laser beams or something lol.

Regarding mom kills. I've killed her a few times now but it says 0. Is it only counted if you do the additional stages after you first defeat her in subsequent runs?
