Goto the dragon age keep website to link it to origin to have all your choices from one and two be included in inquisition.

Ps it isn't live yet but will be next week.

I'm wondering whether it is worth punting through Dragon Age 2 as I played Origins but never got around to the second one due to some pretty unfavourable reviews. Assuming this is going to be any good, of course.

Second one is better than the reviews say, imo.

I am currently very addicted to Legends of Grimrock 2 so I'll probably have a punt at Dragon Age 2 after finishing/failing that. My girlfriend has a copy of DA2 so that'll make things easy.

I really liked the second one, but it's been stripped back to the bare bones, basically. It's a very odd transition but still a lot of fun.

What race/class is everyone rolling? I'm thinking a rogue, got on well with archer in DA2.

There is nothing at all wrong with 2 really apart from it being claustrophobic.

    Cleric as always!

2 was excellent if you can forgive its lack of different locations. The original is far better but 2 is worth playing.

warning: your actions have an affect on events during the game but the ending varies only slightly. So just be ready for a disappointing ending, at least it is better than the me3 ending.

I loved the story in 2 but it felt too actiony and not enough rpg for my tastes. Worth a playthrough through, it had some very good bits.

I'm really looking forward to Inquisition. Just finished a second playthrough of Origins the other day and started Awakening, which I haven't played before. I've not played DA2 yet either, so that's next, and then I'll be sorting out my Keep world-state.

I usually play as a magic-wielding class in most RPGs, but went rogue with my recent DA: O playthrough. I'm undecided what to play as in DA: I at the moment.

Looks pretty cool. Never played a DA, although have the first free from Origin. Probably end up getting this, if reviews are good.

I also held off playing DA2 due to the bad word of mouth, but currently playing it and really enjoying it. It's definitely stripped back and the overarching story is low-key, political stuff, but the characters are likeable and the combat system is fast paced and deeper than it first appears. Well worth playing.

Bioware has to be able to produce smaller scale games, where the story line is more localised and perhaps stand alone.

Every game they make can't be an epic everything-rests-on-this section of a trilogy.

I'd like it if an RPG came along (probably already has, many times), in a fantasy setting, where you aren't the centre of the universe.

Yeah and my bigget criticism of DA2 would actually be its length. I'm 55 hours in and still not done. Usually I like a long epic game but DA2 isn't quite engaging enough really, especially with the samey side quests and environment re-use. Should have been about 25 h ideally, like the first Mass Effect.

Bloody hell, really? I was under the impression it was ~30 hours. I'd better speed up!

    @Nanocrystal

Well, you say re-use of environments and that sounds fine but I remember it basically being the same cave, warehouse, or sewer used for every single dungeon. That's a little more 're-use' than you'd normally expect. Also the plot with a certain of the characters which leads into the big choice at the end is absolute bullshit of the greatest magnitude!

I did like having a voiced protagonist and I thought the characters were better.

Yeah the layouts were all the same too (aside from a blocked off door here or there). I'm not trying to excuse it. Didn't bother me that much really, but I can see where the hate comes from.

One other thing DA2 does really well is banter between team members. The amount of conversations for each combination of characters is pretty astounding, and makes it worthwhile switching up your team regularly. Isabela has some great lines in particular ("I like big boats, I cannot lie.") And at the risk of derailing this thread into another SJW shitstorm, she's also a good example of a sexualised female character done right.

Witcher 2 has elements of that, Geralt is a cog in the machine but there are a number of things which happen without his influence and he seems to be just part of a larger story that is playing out.

The date mission in 2 made up for all the flaws.  I have never laughed so much in a rpg.
