    I have never played BB and I am no great fan of Dark Souls, but I do like how the games tell/withold/unveil their stories. Thematic coherence everywhere as i understand it.

    Oh god, he was magnificent.
    I had to cheese him tbh
    He took me a good saturday afternoon. I even tried cheesing him at one point but he got wise to it. I evenutally had to do it legit and boy it was such a rush when he finally fell.

    @LittleSparra o/ Sparra, if you have a ps4 i wholly recommend trying bloodborne. It is super unforgiving at first and, well it doesnt really let up, but the rush you get from it is not rivaled.

    It is magnificent, he is so compicated and constantly changing. I find that whenever I do beat him I get into a zone and barely use any blood vials, I think on my last run the winning battle I used two vials, something like that.

    I tend to bait his chikage and dodge around during his other form.

    I was an Arcane build. So I would wait, until he was half on the stairs, run in, Arcane him with the strongest spell, the one with multiple flying spots, and then run back out when he would come for me. rinse and repeat. I think at the end, I usually only needed one more hit with the Ludwig Sword to finish him off.

    @Graxlar_v3

    Rom was a complete sod... I had to summon, my summon died in the last phase and I finished him with only one blood vial left.

    Took me a good few attempts at Rom first time through, dealing with the mobs is a pain. At least it's a big open space to fight in, unlike chalice Rom.

    @DodgyPast Congrats :) I did Rom as a last thing before bed deal and fuck me, spiders now creep me out massively.

    Chalice Rom was one of the two hardest bosses for me (the other being Defiled Amygdala).

    So, I've just finished Demon's Souls and now I'm going to give this a go.

    Is there a "best for noobs" starting class? I've realised that you get into the swing of these games and they get somewhat easier as you go, but starting out, is there anything to lessen the pain?

    I'd go with one with low bloodtinge and arcane as they aren't vital

    Probably would say focus on melee first time around and use saw cleaver as a starting weapon as it will suffice the whole game if necessary

    Any weapon in Bloodborne will suffice the whole game, there are less of them but they're all pretty practical.

    Cleaver is a good starting choice though because it does bonus damage to beasts in its standard mode and you'll be fighting them for most of the first half.

    I did the whole game and the dlc with the axe the first time through. It has such a satisfying action in both modes.

    I think I'm the only person in the world that prefers the cane. It doesn't hit as hard but its speed allows you to easily stunlock enemies.

    @OllyJ Your Demon's experience should stand you in good stead. Initial stats and levelling will not cripple you but don't spread yourself too thin, if in doubt fire points into vitality/endurance.

    Also learning to parry is vital though not anywhere as hard as other Souls.

    @Bichii

    Have you given it a go with summoning? Lessens the pain somewhat

    As I said a few pages ago, I think I lucked into a good noob build.

    I chose the fighter class and piled everything into Health, strength and skill as a minor stat.

    By the end of the game, I could one shot almost every regular enemy but had never cast a single spell.

    So i'm about 4 hours deep now.

    Chose War Veteran class, the Saw Cleaver and Blunderbuss.

    First 2 hours was basically getting killed and trying to kill that huge axe wielding guy down one of the first alleys you come to, clearly I should not have been wasting my time here.

    So I decided to try and inch my way around the level opening doors and just getting as many items as possible, then what seems to have been quite a short amount of time I've beaten the Cleric Beast, got the Kirkhammer to +2 and levelled up my stats a touch, mostly to Vitality, Endurance, and Strength.

    So now when I go visit that axe guy, he's fucked. Absolutely loving this so far. Though, Father Gascoine is giving me grief. But to be honest, I actually quiet enjoy being in this starting area, levelling up and just getting used to the mechanics.

    @OllyJ you're doing pretty well. I loved the Kirkhammer, used that and the Saw Cleaver on my very first playthrough

    I'm at the Blood Starved Beast, I've got him down to about 1/4 health, but he poisons fuck out of me. Is there a good armour set for anti poison?
