Very tempted to get tickets, although I can't really picture what sort of a production they're going for. My guess is revisiting some of her past material and maybe rearranging it. She's got plenty of famous collaborators to rope in for guest spots too.
Yeah, 2 good examples there, both are utterly brilliant and utterly gorgeous too.

She's fucking massive, a disgrace is what she is.
Kids, Pies are bad for you.
You're not trying very hard. Are you bored?

The only thing worse than ecosse in a nintendo thread is ecosse in a thread about women.

Surprised about that. Nothing to do with the Rolf Harris bit on the album? I've always disliked that track but the rest of the 2 discs are the equal of anything else she has done, for me personally (although I've still not bothered to persevere with 50 Words and the Directors Cut stuff.

I've gone from Wow to meh, in the space of 3 minutes. I'm not sure I'm bothered about seeing her live despite having loved her work since first hearing her as an 8 year old. Obviously if it was a relatively intimate venue then no question but the Apollo is a bit big to be intimate.
Really couldn't stand that track, but I didn't enjoy the rest of it much either. I just think my taste has changed. I didn't like her earlier stuff but now I do, whereas the Red Shoes and Sensual world seem more dreary. Still love Hounds of Love though.

I reckon The Dreaming is underrated. Houdini is one of her best songs.

'Hounds of Love' is one of my favourite albums. It's nothing like the Aphex Twin / Pixies / Prince / Can / Hendrix / whatever stuff I would normally listen to. But there is some kind of magic in those tracks. Somekind of trippy, energetic, dont give a shit musicality... and a lot of soul...

Not sure I would go see Kate live nowadays... but maybe, just maybe...

Since this was in the national news on the BBC, I suspect everyone who liked her when they were younger but hasn't been to a gig in years promptly bought a ticket, so you'll be lucky to get one if you're still umming and aahing.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Yup. Umming and ahhhing my way out of amazing gigs has been a habit since I was about 13...!

My mum invited me to go and see Joe Stummer and the Mescaleros just a few months before Joe suddenly passed away, and I turned it down to go to drink Special Brew in the park with my mates. I am a tit.

Absolutely this. I ummed and ahhhed about going to see Tom Waits and Arthur Lee. Tom Waits was £85, which was the stumbling block but fuck me, it's Tom Waits! Arthur Lee was a bit of a shame as I didn't really know who he was at the time, for shame.

You are a factory of sadness.

I knew who he was for a long time then he did some concerts at the Royal Festival Hall (I think), and I ummed and ahhhed about going, didn't go, then a few years later he died :(

Tickets on sale this Friday. £49 - £135, plus booking fee.

Didn't gigs used to be about £6.50?

Crikey. I suppose it is a bit of a one-off chance to see her live though. Until she sells out, of course.

    £49 - £135? Hmm...

I don't normally go for big arena type gigs as I do prefer going to smaller venues and seeing more up-and-coming bands. These do cost about a tenner.

I think these gigs will be quite special though.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Iíve been listening to a bit of KB today and it confirmed that for me, Hounds of Love is by some distance the best album she ever recorded.
My 2nd fave is The Sensual World

I like her first album the best. And I think Aerial is alright, you've got to have a bit of sympathy with the newer material, it's almost like comparing different artists. 50 words for snow was dope.
