    Still would.

I draw the line at Debbie Harry though. If there was ever a reason to build a time machine however, a 25 y/o Debbie Harry would be it!

Never thought she'd tour again and I remember the last one, was quite good apparently :) Am happy that she'll be performing live again but have no idea if the concerts will be any good.

Oh and she was born in Welling, the town I live in :D

Quite exciting, although I suspect it is going to sell out exceptionally quickly.

You are a factory of sadness.

Just London? I'm due a trip there anyhow.

I can't make my mind up about this. I am a massive Kate Bush fan, but I'm not sure if I'm bothered about seeing her live. It sounds weird but her music isn't the sort of music I feel the need to hear live. Don't get me wrong, if someone offered me tickets and a lift then I would go, but I don't know if I have enough of a desire to make the effort (and it would mean a considerable effort for me as I am the only Kate Bush fan I know) to go to one of these gigs.

I feel the need to reiterate that I absolutley adore Kate Bush's music; I think she's the best singer ever.

Tickets will probably be extremely expensive.

Apparently her first and only set of live dates were truly brilliant, she had a vaudeville aesthetic and all kinds of interesting ideas. It wont just be her singing, there will be elements of theatre and the like I'm sure.

You are a factory of sadness.

Probably worth making the effort as I don't think it's going to happen again. Hopefully not more than 80 a ticket, but more likely 150 minimum.

That sounds very cool, but all I would really want is to hear her sing. Like DB says it probably won't happen again, so I might have to try.

I do like Kate Bush, but I didn't like Aerial and the stuff since, and I don't like attempts to relive the past (Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Pixies), so not for me.

Which probably means it'll be brilliant and I'm a mug.

What's the closest to a modern Kate Bush anyway? Ellie Goulding?

Love me a bit of Miss Bush, her work is mostly pretty excellent - extremely surprised to hear that she'll be doing live shows though given her avoidance of such things for many years.

I guess she won't be prancing around the stage in a leotard though given that she appears to have been over-indulging in chocolate for a good number of years. :)

It isn't Ellie Goulding, she's more like Enya.

The next closest thing is probably Bjork. She seems to have the same inherently idiosyncratic approach, and her singing style isn't a million miles away from Kate Bush's, even if their voices aren't that similar.

It really depends on the artist when they play live after a long time away.

I though The Stone Roses gig at Heaton Park was amazing. I'm still gutted I didn't go to the Led Zeppelin one a few years back when they played with an orchestra.

These are the kind of bands/artists I love to see live. The Big Reunion with the likes of Blue, Five, Damage etc. can fuck right off :-)

Surprised about that. Nothing to do with the Rolf Harris bit on the album? I've always disliked that track but the rest of the 2 discs are the equal of anything else she has done, for me personally (although I've still not bothered to persevere with 50 Words and the Directors Cut stuff.

I've gone from Wow to meh, in the space of 3 minutes. I'm not sure I'm bothered about seeing her live despite having loved her work since first hearing her as an 8 year old. Obviously if it was a relatively intimate venue then no question but the Apollo is a bit big to be intimate.

Amazing news, but yeah this will be sold out within the first few seconds I imagine.

Only thing I am worried about is that this won't be a 'Hits' concert and she instead will be just performing her recent, more unusual material live in a Scott Walker esq experimental fashion.

Just avoid using Ticketmaster at all costs. Gigs and Tours or See Tickets are much, much better.

How is her recent stuff "more unusual"?

Given that there's a roughly 35 year gap between when those 2 pictures were taken I think you're stating the obvious. Big deal, she doesn't look as attractive to you any more.

I'd say the modern Kate Bush a-likes are people like St Vincent, Bjork, Bat For Lashes, Alison Goldfrapp.
Very tempted to get tickets, although I can't really picture what sort of a production they're going for. My guess is revisiting some of her past material and maybe rearranging it. She's got plenty of famous collaborators to rope in for guest spots too.
