There's no point keeping an open mind; expect the worst and then you will be pleasantly surprised if it's any good.

I'm 100% convinced that it's going to be mind-blowingly BRILLIANT.

Nah. That stupid woman ruined it by playing Holly.

Would like to have had a look at this, but here in NI getting the Dave signal on Freeview can be very troublesome.

Had it for a couple of years then it suddenly disappeared about a year ago - the TV with a portable aerial can get it sometimes but no amount of mucking about is getting it back on the ones connected to the roof.

I quite enjoy red dwarf, but series 2 is the only one that I can watch over and over.

I like any series from 1-6 depending on the mood. I just can't bring myself to watch 7-8 ever again though. That scene with the cat dancing around like Lionel Blair will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Kochanksi died didn't she? I remember a grave or something in Back To Earth but try so very hard to forget Back To Earth I can't say for sure.
For anyone who cares about spoilers in Back to Earth..
They actually revealed near the end that she wasn't dead. She left because of how sad and pathetic Lister had become and Kryten said she was dead to spare his feelings. I assume she'll at least have a cameo in this at some point.

Then the now resurrected living Rimmer must've died again, and Kochanski left.

Not that such things have much meaning in a show where characters can have their appendix taken out repeatedly ;)
It's apparently going to be explained in this series at some point though, but Back to Earth at least implied that it was the original Rimmer again.

But yeah, they've never cared about continuity much. I'd expect it to be mentioned in passing at most.

I can stomach 7 and 8, not really that funny though. The weird take on Ace then a loss of Rimmer to be replaced with a annoying female character really hurts 7 badly and 8 was quite interesting really but it was hurt by really poor humour. Still watchable though and in all honestly I'll be take a series of the same quality, anything is better than Back To Earth!

    Anyway 8 minutes Dwarfers!

Danny John-Jules' capacity for deadpan is very good indeed.

I have been laughing. Please let his brother be David Mitchell like it sounds like - edit: no, oh well. He wouldn't look right

Hmm, not sure about this. It's like Red Dwarf VI again (no bad thing) but damn the cast look old (Kryten makeup looks wrong) and the cat is still looking like Lionel Blair.

As I said above, it's just wrong?!

Well, it wasn't terrible but I'm not impressed either but then my hopes weren't high. It feels like a Chinese knock-off version of Red Dwarf.

    He got fat.

Watched about 5 mins whilst flicking through. Amazingly, it didn't horrify me.

Thought that was alright personally. Far from the best thing on TV, but better than the last few series' of Dwarf.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

It was okay. Got some laughs out of it, some jokes fell flat. It's really evident how old they all are now, it shouldn't affect the show but it just makes it weird for me. Will tune in next week though.
