Watching the 11:30 repeat - the father/son messages are mind-bending and absolutely hilarious.

Well done Dave (the channel), this time you've made it work!

Have to say, I think they've both been very good so far.

Strangely though, thing I appreciated most was Cat going in for the anaesthetic because he just wanted it. Actually felt like they'd realised Cat did once have a personality rather than being a peg to hang a Duane Dibbly gag on.

The conversation about specs for the new computer was fantastic and Rimmer telling Lister he was a shit father was so well acted.

Red Dwarf like all Sci-fi has a cult following all over the world. Dave would be insane not to sell it.

It's only any good if you overlook the fact that comedy has moved on a bit in the last decade and individual jokes don't tend to take five minutes to agonisingly play out any more.

if you have nothing intresting to say then you might as well just throw your bags on the truck and drive away

Yeah but at the very least they've managed to go 2 episodes now which were perfectly watchable which far exceeds the expectations I had going into this series. I miss holly, however it would of been nice to see the women rimmer created....

I can't I'm afraid, and I am generally a big fan of 'dwarf. I just wish they'd give up because it is just all so shit these days. Jokes can still take ages to play out but have something surprising and/or clever at the end of it.

A three minute joke with rimmer basically doing the same joke (fhm style ideal female characteristics) over and over again was actually a bit sad. It's making me sad and wondering whether it was ever actually funny in the first place

Even the metaphor type things aren't even really jokes anymore. War & peace is longer than rapunzel's pubic hair. What is that?

We've got less choice than a welsh fish and chip shop. Crazy and good

Except that's Rimmers character he doesn't view or treat women as people as has been discussed in previous episodes such as his infamous hypnotising technique.

Red Dwarf never had an ending of any sort back in 1999, or at least has an ending that a town called Eureka had that's is sort of an ending but at least leaves the door open to carry on in the future. That's all I want out of this series, a bit of closure on it.

Has anyone noticed how different Lister's voice is to what it used to be?

Craig Charles seems to have a bit more of a "proper" accent now. Before it was whiny Scouse, but now although there is still some of that, it seems to be a lot more standard English.

It seems to me he's spent too long in Coronation Street. He comes across as acting in a soap instead of performing in a sit com.

I think he's a better actor for having worked on Corrie. As for the accent, well, hanging around with Kryten & Rimmer, some RP was bound to rub off.

He's definitely acting more expressively now, which is probably fitting for an older character. No complaints from me on that front.

As for his accent, it's just moved a couple of miles east - not too surprising as I guess he works almost exclusively these days at the other end of the canal.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

This is pretty funny so far, I like it when they leave the ship, even if the premise has been done before in RD.

Hmm.. definitely the weakest one so far; very poor and on a Back to Earth level of poorness too.

Watched the second episode today. Still really good. Cat is constantly funny even with some poor material.

They've all been bad compared to series 1-6.
