Say so here. As there's no poll mechanism.

    Depends on the price.

    Giantbomb is ~3 a month or ~30 a year.

Sounds reasonable to me if you compare it to stuff like newspapers or netflix. Especially if it paid for even better content.

Use Adblock and you get this already ;)

@philreeduk I've mixed feelings about AdBlock, feels like a shitty way out.

Not really. I used to pay for IGN back in the day, it was worth it and EG would be worth it if I had to pay.

But none of the ads are that intrusive, and it means I get a great site for free. Don't know why they bother people so much.

I would say that I really liked the app they 'sunsetted'. Like to be able to download the news and read it on the underground. If they could square another one of those away I would pay again.

Don't do it! You just don't know what you set in motion when the coin starts rolling. Dangerous stuff. Almost evil. Ads are good for us. Think about it: with ads there is no need for MT. Ads are good. They're for our benefit. Be grateful for what you got. Be careful what you wish for. MT is gonna hunt you down in the longterm. It will destroy you. You will be gone. MT will win. MT always win. MT bad. MT evil. Watch out. Think before you act. Consume EG with your hart, ads included, ban MT and MT proposeurs (bad bad people really).

I'd pay Vizzini a subscription fee to increase his participation on this forum.

    @AaronTurner

I don't like to jump on the 'give Vizzini shit' bandwagon but the blow ups he seems to create are golden.

Think people are more concerned with ads on portable devices - mobiles seems to be dealing with a lot of intrusive ads at the moment, as well as the browsing experience being pretty flaky.

I'd consider a sub, I use the site a lot - even a paid for app that removes ad content would be a good step forward.

EG should introduce a pay to be a mod scheme. Something along the lines of 1 per minute of being a mod. It'd bring in loads of dough I'm sure.

It depends on the price but I reckon the amount I'd be willing to pay is probably more than they make out of me in ad revenue.

If you are on android use the unofficial Eurogamer app.

The iOS app still works, if you have it of course.

No, bringing in separate content for paid subscription would force force me away from Eurogamer. Nothing more frustrating then being unable to watch or read stuff until you pay.

Or they could, you know, not use intrusive ads.

After all, it's worked for the internet since before most of you were born.

Nine times out of ten the ads are fine here. Every so often you get one that completely borks the site and makes it unusable (the giant 3D cube on the mobile site a few days ago for instance) but that normally gets taken care of pretty quick. Nothing remotely worth paying for.

The ads are the best part of the site.
