I thinking of getting a turtle beach px4 headset. But what stopping me pull the trigger is the fact that you can't adjust the chat volume, I'm concerned it won't be loud enough as I tend to have mine cranked up quite loud. So if you use a pair could you give me or opinion or if not an alternative headset recommendation?, it would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I've bought one but I've not used it yet. I think you can adjust the chat volume.

I got mine for late night single player gaming so chat doesn't bother me too much.

I'll try and give them a go later tonight on BF4 and see how they work.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

You can adjust the chat volume by holding PS button for a while, then 'adjust device'.

I had to do that on BF4 for a couple of guys shouting away in my ears while they were chatting.

I notice that deep in the screens for BF4 you can mute players too. I had a mouth-breather who was eating loudly into his mic a few nights back. Nice. Bliss to tune him out.

The default volume for chat on my PX4s is fine.

Though I rarely actually hear chat, if you don't have the mic cable plugged into the controller you don't get voice comms.

I bought a PS4 today and I am after a decent headset but I want to be able to use said headset for PC gaming. I currently have a pair of Creative Fatalities which are ok but nothing special.

I have considered the PX4's but I don't really want to spend more than 100 so I was thinking Razer Kraken 7.1 instead.

    Any other recommendations?

I can't work out if they're fully compatible (looking for a headset myself) but the Tritton Warheads are only a smidgen over 100 on Amazon. They seem popular and Eurogamer liked them in a recent round up of (fairly high end) headsets. Will look for the article.

Those Trittons don't appear to support voice chat on PS4 though :-(

No they don't. If you want something that will work on PS4 and PC then how about the Mad Catz FREQ3?

Anyone got experience of both the Turtle Beach PX4s and the new Sony Wireless 2.0 / Gold headset? The PX4s are around 106 on Amazon at the moment so there isn't much difference in price.

Main factors are overall sound quality, 'surround' quality and comfort. I understand the Sony ones are more convenient but I never use voice chat so I don't think that's really a factor.

Will be used for gaming and films.

I recently bought the Sony Wireless 2.0 headset and I'm liking it. It's comfortable (even with glasses) and the sound quality/virtual surround seem decent enough to me.

Negatives are that the battery life is a bit short (but not unreasonably so) and the adjustable "cups" are a bit too easy to adjust, great once on your head but a nightmare when trying to plug the charging cable in ;)

I have both, I use the PX 4 for the one and the 2.0 for PS4. Out of the two I am happier with the 2.0 Wireless headset, better sound but as MMMarmite said earlier, the battery life is not so good.

Thanks - so you think the 2.0 headset has the better sound? Interesting, I was assuming the other way around given the price difference.

The surround sound of the wireless 2.0 is much better, with the PX 4 headset you have 4 different surround pre-sets but in my opinion the Sony headset is crisper with a wider surround effect. It may just be the games I am playing though, Second Son is a wonderful sounding game. I have used the PX 4 headset for quite a few films and they are good. Whichever you choose you will not be disappointed

Does anyone know how the 2.0 compares to the original one? The 2 isn't available in Australia yet but they are running out the original cheaper in preparation for it.

If you like wasting a lot of money like I do - I highly recommend the SteelSeries H Wireless. They're bloody brilliant, no issues whatsoever other than the price tag.

Bought the 2.0. Had a bit of a fright but I was being silly.

So are there any settings I need to fiddle with on the PS4 (other than changing it to all audio through the headset) or is it ready to go straight away? 7.1 and all that.

Bit of a random question: I want to get the Wireless 2.0, but I was wondering if anyone knows whether it can receive sound from PC and PS4 simultaneously (to use Skype etc while I play)?

I know it works with PCs, so I'd imagine you could connect it wirelessly to your PC and use the included 3.5mm cable to connect it to the DS4.

Would it then play the sound from both sources?

Just got the Wireless Headset v2.0 and I'm rather impressed. For the money the wireless is great and works on my laptop as well which is nice. Plus its quite comfortable but does my poor ears a bit hot although that could be the weather at the moment.

Only thing I've noticed is if i don't have the mic muted it seems to be constantly on as i can hear in through the headphones. Does anyone else have that problem and how do you solve it?

    @Lexical

Can't answer your q about the mic but re: the hot ears, it's definitely current weather related! Had mine about a month, used them a lot, much comfier and better sounding than my old Turtle Beach X41's (which suffered horribly from popping and crackling). It's only in the last couple of weeks that I've had to take them off due to my ears getting hot.

Don't worry, I'm sure normal British weather will commence shortly :)

Hmm dunno. Did notice the mic icon appearing on screen quite a lot during the Destiny beta.

Same... Although maybe it was the fan in my room trying to cool my ears down. Will test again tomorrow.
